  1. I want to get an Arbor press to use for snaps and rivets. Problem is all the "easy" modification videos I have seen require a machine shop that I don't have.lol
  2. You can wrap or bind stitch the end then back stitch.
  3. I really like the look of the Tiger thread and way it works. It was a game changer for my stitching. The Tandy stuff feels like rope.lol and is VERY waxy in comparison. The holsters look very good. I really like the look of the avenger style holsters. I haven't been brave enough to try two tone yet. I love the contrast.
  4. Good start. To straighten out your stitching get an overstitch wheel or stitching chisels. Use a compass/dividers set at 1/8th or 3mm(or so) to mark a line from the edge then use stitching wheel or chisel. A fork will work in a pinch.lol. Rule of thumb is about 8 spi on something that size. I use .08 thread.
  5. Trial and error is about the only way with leather too. Good luck. I find I just make a lot of stuff for the wife and kids.lol
  6. I glued and stitched one side then glued and stitched the other side. It leaves a "pouch". The gun is TIGHT in the holster. Probably add a reinforcement on the mouth next go around but it doesn't collapse now. Stitch lines were left in same place as your original. There was just extra leather between the lines. It seems to help it wrap around more.
  7. Thanks Dwight. When I have a pattern to go from. It all makes sense. When I'm trying to come up with one it's like Greek written in Chinese characters. Lol
  8. Oh yeah. Wife got me a makers mark and I managed to put it in the wrong spot.lol. Haven't done anything with the edges yet till I see if it works. Also it's a 5 spi. with 1mm Tiger. It looks like it's sewn with rope to me. Mabey because I've been doing small stuff at 8 spi with .08 tiger?
  9. I tried drawing up a pattern like the VM 2 or Dwight's Cactus. I just plain and simple can't draw. So what I did was take your G27 pattern Jeff and cut it at the stitch line add 1/2 inch and put it back together. Front side only. It feels pretty good so far I'm used to appendix carry so it a little different for me. Will get a few more pics wI think it on and get up too.
  10. I size them for back pockets. There are so many different shirt size pockets you would have to have a specific measurement for each shirt pocket.
  11. I have a G43 and there is no shortage of holsters out there. You might want to think about making a few less common holsters bikermutt. Ask Jeff market is flooded with Glock and S&W and the like.
  12. I used Fiebings Tan cut 5 to 1. And I buffed the be heck out of it and don't get any rub off. Put neetsfoot oil on it let dry for a day. Finished with Leather balm with Atom wax.
  13. Couple pocket protectors. People keep buying them so I guess I will keep making them.lol. I do like doing them really. They can be personalized, can do different color leather and thread. All from the same pattern. I since I struggle with drawing up patterns I like that!
  14. Thanks. I just saw this. I don't understand why I don't get notifications all the time.lol
  15. About a week. Working on it on and off letting stuff dry and all. About 3 hrs of sewing.
  16. First belt I've made. Learned a few things. It has some issues but it is solid and holds up my pants.lol
  17. Long title I know. Made a few small wallets with some scrap that was cutoff from other stuff I've done. I just wish I could get my back stitch to look better.
  18. You have to shrink size of pics with a app or program. I just send them from myself to myself via text or fb messenger. Everytime you send and save it shrinks the file size. It's a quick way till you find what works for you.
  19. Hey Jeff. If you still got this deal I will take it. Do you still have the info from the leather I bought from you before?
  20. Thanks. Will probably try a couple different ways see what works best. Just check to see if there was a "right" way to do it.
