  1. Just have to keep looking till you find what you like. Wife has Coach,D &B Cath Kids on. And on and on.lol. Saddle soap or gum trag can be a game changer for burnishing. Also sanding the edge before burnishing. Matt.
  2. Oh and chrome tan leather is usually very soft. It what they use for bags and such. The edges can't really be burnished they have to be painted with edge paint or edge kote or the like. And it's always predyed. Not sure if any of this helps.
  3. Crooked K sounds good to me.Especially if doing western. It invokes ranch names and cattle brands to me. You could even incorporate a Crooked K cattle brand style into a logo. My name is Smith try that one.lol

I'm looking for a KW stamp like my avatar. I found some vintage ones of the word but not the emblem. Can I have one made or is that copyright infringement?
  6. Thanks. It feels a bit weird to carry it. I have avoided chain wallets in 25 yrs of driving truck.lol
  7. I like it. Slots seem a little big but mabey it's the angle of the pic. I cut mine at 1.5 and burnishing makes it just big enough for a tight fit on a 1.5 belt.Edges can use a little work but good artwork.
  8. New pattern I got. So I gotta wear a chain driven wallet for awhile. Lol even has fake money cuz wife won't give me real stuff. It was just a quick one that I knew I would be carrying so I used the worst parts of the leather I had. The shell is 4/5oz and the pockets are probably 2/3 oz from the leg area of a 3/4 side. Also why I didn't line or smooth the rough interior.
  9. Hehehe. You said shaft. I couldn't help myself sorry.
  10. Simply amazing. Nuff said.
  11. Or. Dye the back or the flap part not the pocket part to keep stiffness down. Also can dye a piece THEN cut out pattern. And it looks good to me. Keep on keepin on. Matt
  12. Cool thanks. Do you have any pics of work done like this?
  13. Do you dye before, after, or all?
  14. I got one from him it's pretty nice. Just got a basic one with my name but works good.
  15. He makes stamps, makers marks and the like too.
  16. I have used Sharpits. They do work, they do have different sizes too. Ive only used black or brown before dying. Still need a steady hand.
  17. I like that cam lock. That's only downside to mine. There is a thread somewhere on here about a spring and cam lock on amazon to upgrade the Tandy one.
  18. A lot of them are oiled and sun tanned to get that color. But the dye color is Saddle Tan. A lot of practice and trial and error are involved in getting dye right. It's a art not a science that people struggle with.
  19. I've yet to do it myself. I just have read of it and seen it offerd. I don't see why it wouldn't work fine. But that's just my opinion.
  20. I contacted ALD about if they had any 2/3 or 3/4 drum dyed. They said they would send some samples. Got them but they are all 15 oz samples. Looks like nice stuff though. You know how it goes with samples though send the best they got.lol
