  1. Just a guess. Using acrylic paint and really thin dye. Probably antique gel too. I'm thinking there are many different layers going on here.
  2. I've been using a orange tandy one for 5 months. 1 sponge per dye color. They ain't orange anymore but work as good as day I got them.
  3. I found a place selling high density sponges like the ones at Tandy for .49 each. Problem is minimum order of 200.
  4. I watched Sam making his shoulder right last night. 1.5 hours but I feel it was time we'll spent.
  5. I know shield or trophy buckles can be up to a half inch different. To me buckle pictured is a bridal bucket. Best bet would be to wait if 1/32 makes a difference.
  6. Don't Gonzales has a short video on doing it on belt. I have no idea if that's the way Altenburg Stohlman does it. That's all I got. Sorry. Matt.
  7. Hank Strange. He has mostly long gun videos on his channel. He has 2 or 3 Andrews videos up.
  8. That Sam Andrews video is what made me start working leather.lol
  9. I'll take email if still got it.
  10. Isn't the smoke smell from smoking the hives to open them? Really no way around that is there?
  11. I'm ascared to put anything on it and get a blotch from oil. It also has leather balm w/atom wax on it. A customer got pics through EVERY stage and ok'd everything. Saw the variants of the colors said awesome when sent finished pic. Other than six rivets and hardware waiting on. Then 4 hrs later wanted me to dye the straps black or darken the top panel somehow. I will try a tan the top panel but I told her no guarantee.
  12. How can a darken the neck piece to get it closer to the strap color? Both pieces have Aussie heated into them.
  13. What's the inside look like? And I can here the accent in the text with a name like that.lol
  14. Like so. I tape middle finger too if hands are especially fragile(must be Italian) that day.
  15. YA i watched the video on these are couple weeks ago. I see he has 2 styles rounded and flat.
  16. K. Now this might be a stupid question..... Is it possible to just Chuck in the hand slicker/burnisher to a drill press? Shouldn't be to hard to get it in true. Option till you can get or make a "real" one?
  17. We end up getting my girl her own shoulder for Christmas. She has done valet trays ,bracelets, and now has a couple belt buckles in the works. Next time she's down she is planning on a "can coozie". She got artistic ability from her mom. She draws up her own patterns even.
  18. Great now I got to buy a drill press.lol My power tools are limited to a circular saw and a Sawzall oh and a cordless drill.
  19. Heck my Tandy wood strap cutters works real good.lol Maybe I just got lucky.
  20. S T leather has a bunch. Tandy has them cheap and can take apart to use whatever parts you want. Hardware store just get stainless. Like the wallet. I would have used the button part of the snap on both sides but that's just my preference.lol
  21. Thanks! Patterning is my nemesis. Lol I have made a fair few things with my own pattern that didn't work like I wanted.
  22. Haha dog toffee. Oddly enough I'm a Matt S. also. My step daughter is a huge Dr. Who fan and found it hilarious when her mom started dating "The Dr." Sheri just moved back to Winchester from America to see how she like UK as an adult. It amazing how much my language has been affected by them. Sometimes I don't know if I mean chips, crisps or fries. Rambling on. Thanks for info.
