  1. Who do yall use to get the hansen conchos. I looked at all the links but none of them have the conchos on there web sites? I've wanted those conchos for for sevral projects but I haven't been able to get any.
  2. I'm lookin for some conchos for a bridle that i'll be maken in the near future. I have only found one supplier and they are threw the roof on prices who do yall use for these?
  3. What is the type of flat braid that is use on the rear of the saddle jockey to connect the two together? I would have searched the forum but it's kind of hard to when you don't know the name. Thanks for the help in advance.
  4. What kind of hammer are you using? It's best if you use a polly mallet or raw hide. You should probly sharpen the chisels to. Hope this helps
  5. That is a good lookin belt. I have a question on your finger cuts do you have a pattern or do you just free hand it? Second question when you do an inlat likee this do you you have the inlay go all the way to the edge of the belt? If it goes all the way to the edge does it effect your burnishing? Thanks for all of your good work and the knowledge your always willing to share.
  6. When you are tapping your setter move it in a circular motion you are trying to get the post to roll outward. I hope this helps.
  7. I have two questions on Chaylor and Fenneli. Do they still have a two hundred min. and how long does it take to get an order from them?
  8. Ok before i screw sometime up in the instructions it state's to clean all the bottom metal parts with gasoline before adding the oil? This does not seen right but I could be wrong it would be the first time.lol Does anyone have a threading pattern for this machine the instructions are very vage. And if anyone could give some good advise for a rookie sewing machine opperator it would be much appreciated.
  9. I was ther it was a really great show and alot of great vendor booths. I finally got a Cobra sewing machine the customer service I recieved was what sold me on the machine. I went by three other vendor booths they didn't seem to care that I was looking at there machines. I had plenty of questions but no one would help. It was my first experiance going to a show like that I would recommend it to everyone. Over all it was a great expirance.
  10. First thing did you wash all of the oil off of the steal wool? I let my roon sit for at least two weeks. I shake the mixture every couple of days and let the gas out. It will begin to look like brown water. I then use a coffe filter and strain the mix into a clean container. Then it's read to go. I hope this helps.
  11. If you can was your hands pretty quick after getting the dye on them. Gojo orange hand cleaner works good. If you have dry skin use tide powder to scrub with. It works for me.
  12. Check out Leather wranglers Inc. I have bought two knifes from them and I could not be happier with them. Ithink they run around 135 but they are worth every penny. they stay sharper longer and quick to take an edge.
  13. Shorts I lived in the panhandle around the Lubbock area and the water was hard it seemed to be hard to case with. I now live in central Texas now and the water is much softer and is easier to case with. Which part for Tx are you in.

  17. Baby powder works well to I've used it on some boots that were soaked in oil.

  19. Do you think I could substitute the sheep drippings for lard. It's kindof hard to find mutton in rural Texas.
  20. I work for TDCJ I'm a Sergeant I've worked there for 8 years. I love doing leather on the side.
  21. I use a dermel tool with a small drill bit for holes when I need to hand stitch. You might give it a try it works for me.
