Stitching is only there for looks. Once stitched, tooled, died etc. take the body and wrap around the cup about middle of the cup. I overlapped 1 inch to allow for the 3 rivets to hold it. Handle has 4 rivets. -

Got in pdf format. Don't know why I can't copy and paste it here. If the size is wrong just shrink or zoom till the 8" guide correct. If this doesn't work just message me your email and I'll send you the pdf. -
Yeti cup holders with handles
Clintock replied to Clintock's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Working on getting the pattern together. Don't have the hardware to do it in pdf format so it'll be crude but if you can read a ruler it'll be fairly easy. The handles do stand up their own with the cup full. I use contact cement to bond the two layers for the handle. Tough to bend the tight radius but once there it stays. Anyway back to getting this pattern done so I can share -

Soon as I get home I'll get it together and put it here. Don't know how to do the pdf thing but at least the pattern will be there -
They sure look nice!

Totally agree. I've been on forums before where mods think they're gods and keep the drama stirred up. Just let things go sometimes. @immiketoo how is paying for classes or instructional videos helping the industry? If a guy wants to teach someone else something for free, does that mean he doesn't know all there is to know because he's not charging for the lesson? I play music and never had a class. Both parents and aunts and uncles play. No classes anywhere. I've played along side folks who have paid for sessions or classes and still can't keep time or rythum. But since they paid for classes they're supposed to be better? I don't think so. I can see how you think it's supposed to be that way but it's not. Never will be.

First Mexican loop
Clintock replied to Clintock's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Looks like they went with lacing as well. Mighty big holes just to stitch. Appreciate the pics. That's the style I thought you were referring to. Looks nice. Believe you're right about it being a Tandy pattern. May be the Tandy kit where it's already cut out. Kinda looks like it was stamped out or clicked or ?? Don't know the proper terminology. -

One of the first videos I ever watched about making holsters. Learned quiet a bit in the 30 some odd minutes. Still learning "Less is more"

First Mexican loop

Appreciate the feedback. The 3 that went out was changed completely. Wasn't even the Mexican loop style so now I have a chance to try again with my pistol. Think I know the style you're talking about. Seen it on tales of Wells Fargo on the western channel yesterday. (Noticed I pay closer attention to those now). If you have a picture of the holster you mentioned I'd love to see it. -
Booties for Miss Rodeo OK
Clintock replied to MendellLeatherOK's topic in Shoes, Boots, Sandals and Moccassins
I've watched a couple of his videos as you suggested. He's got a pretty good style that I like. Also looked at a video of a guy who is this site. Billy hell is his name. Think it's the same one. -

7 weeks off and had this to build

Something about it I like a lot. Don't know what it is but I like it. -
Those look very nice. I'm thinking with my fat fingers I could never tackle or complete a job that small and get the desired results. Looks like you have the right touch.

Social poo 'n' stuff
Clintock replied to JLSleather's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
That's a nice looking holster! I like the shark. I've got to work on one for my glock 17. Really want to use elephant panel. Wayner said it best with the paint can analogy. -

No pic of the front? I for one can vouch for the difference. Made a 50/50 and it pinched when I wore it. Gun fit perfectly while on the night stand. Couldn't pull it out of the holster while wearing it. Got a kit from Jeff and can say without hesitation that the flatter back curved is 100 times better. No matter how much you tighten the belt you can still draw the weapon. Most of the retention is on the front panel instead of 50% on the front 50% on the back. As for myself I'd love to see a tutorial on how to arrive at the proper length to oversize the front panel. -
You got some leather tools in the mail
Clintock replied to CTaylorJr's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Sounds just like my wife! She can't understand "necessary" tools but all these little online boutiques around here love her. Always something new in the mail from those. -
Ah. I see what you're saying. So a sheet of Teflon would be perfect

I may be completely off track here but would a piece of rubber conveyor belt work? I know nothing about clicker presses but you could back the rubber with board of some sort to make it rigid and and watch the depth of the cutting punch to make sure you don't go through it all. Just thinking out loud. If it won't work forgive my ignorance.
