  1. Thank you! Hopefully, I will have a website soon. I'll put the link on my status when I do.
  2. Here's a belt I just finished for my uncle. Nothin' fancy. The leather is 9oz and it is not lined so the stitching is decorative (yes, it's machine stitched). I thought the oval holes were a bit too big and setting the rivets left a few marks but other than that I think it's ok. He pretty much wanted a heavy duty strap of leather to hold his pants up so hopefully it will meet his expectations. Comments/critique are always welcome. Thanks for looking! -Ryan
  3. Okay, I have a question about those belts... Do they really have buckles? Because I've never seen them actually worn... just hung over shoulders. -Ryan
  4. Thanks, guys! I appreciate the kind words!
  5. Thanks, plinker! This was my first attempt at a holster and I think it turned out alright but time will tell how well built it really is. ouch... So I guess I'll stay here in AZ. My parents and older brother are in N.Y. right now selling pens we make.
  6. Thank you! Yeah, he was really disappointed when I told him he couldn't carry it around without dad (he's 15).
  7. Hi, guys! So my dad got my brother a .22 revolver for a birthday present and my gift to him was that I would make him a holster to go with it. ...several months later... And here it is! Let me know what you guys think. Comments/critique are always welcome. I read Jim's tutorial in the holster/knife sheath part of the forum and it really helped. Thanks for looking! -Ryan
  8. I'm speechless... not sure if I could just reach in one of those to answer my phone. Ok, I actually want to make one now just to gross-out friends.
  9. Hey, man, you finished it! That looks great! Nice looking edges, too. -Ryan
  10. I made a rifle scabbard for my saddle and lined it with synthetic wool. It turned out pretty good and I like it was worth the cost. If you use real wool you may want to shave it down a bit as it is a lot denser than the synthetic and you might have trouble stitching the edges of the case together. Not sure if that helps or not. -Ryan
  11. Have fun with the next sheath! Send me pics!
  12. I just sandwiched it between two pieces of leather; the top piece just has "windows." Yes, I removed the shedding scale coves with a knife. Just hold it at a 90 degree angle to the hide and scrape 'em off.
  13. haha! lol! yeah, I did it for kicks and grins. Aw, shucks... I haven't worn it in front of any girls yet... but you never know.... it just might make me a chick-magnet and a big catch.
  14. Thanks. I will do that and let you know what happens. The nfo keeps it flexible enough to tie but at the same time it bleeds into clothing. Hmmm...
  15. It takes about 2-3 weeks to tan one. Sometimes 1 week if it dries quickly. It could have been tighter but most of what you see is the leather that got pushed out a bit when the needle went through. But I would go a little tighter next time.
  16. Thanks. I hope it won't always be too oily. I dipped it in water and it seems a lot of oil came out but not enough. I wonder if I should dip it in water again or if that would be bad for the leather. Any ideas?
  17. @Rossr I'm thinking of using resolene after I get as much oil out as possible. Does anyone think resolene will help keep the oil from bleeding into clothing? Thanks. -Ryan
  18. I currently have it wrapped in a towel and a box on top so we will see how that goes.
  19. Oh, right.... (I'm home schooled and currently on break)
  20. I'm sitting here waiting for someone MY age.... Where are you, teens?!?
