Custom armguard for injury.
ComputerDoctor replied to immiketoo's topic in Collars, Cuffs, Leashes and Leads
WOW--absolutely WOW Beautiful work! It reminds me of an 'archery' forearm guard, like I've had for 50 years that keeps that bow string from hitting my arm with resultant great pain! I wonder, instead of lace, if 'velcro' straps would be easier to use with one hand. Being old, I believe all of my shoes use velcro straps. Sam:) -
Old West Double loop holster
ComputerDoctor replied to RegisD's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Beautiful work and the Heavy Duty construction is period fitting and appropriate for a single action wheel gun:) Non-leather working Folks have no idea how long it takes to make a 'custom' and detailed holster or the many steps it takes till completion! I just finished a 'Revolver holster,' and delivered it to my customer yesterday morning and it sort of hurts to see a 'masterpiece' go:) Take care! Sam:) -
I've visited the USS Constitution and a replica of that made out of Cow flesh may be a little too much:) Biker, it would probably float until the leather go soft, caved in and down it would go:) Sam

Well the Sailboat is finished. I am making an all leather stand that should be ready soon:)

I used to have a Sailboat in a private slip in a Marina in Ventura, California and I thought I'd try constructing one from memory using all Leather and a Chinese 'chop stick,' for the Main Mast, Boom and Bowsprit. It isn't anywhere near to an accurate scale and making miniature rigging pieces is impossible for me. It does have a 'Dagger board' and Rudder. Nothing was water formed, I just used clamps and 'super glue' and some hammer forming and bending. I have to apply the different colors and build a 'stand' of some kind and then I'll show some more pictures. As usual to bring a thought into a design and fashion something into fruition is very time consuming---but fun:) It is approximately 12 inches long and 4 1/2 wide. Sam

Beautiful job and great trade work! It's funny to read this post and see the pictures because earlier today, I removed a new Tandy zipper from its package and tried to figure out how to use it and now you have shown me, by your very good pictures, how to accomplish the task:) Thanks! Sam -

Flap Holster
ComputerDoctor replied to Rohn's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I love it! Beautiful and functional:) All of my holsters so far have been for short 2-3 inch snub nose 38 and 357 wheel guns and lots of semi auto 9mm's and 45 ACP 911 series handguns. I'm going to make a holster like yours (If possible) for a couple of 6-7 inch 357 mag and 44 mag revolvers that I own. Thanks for sharing. Sam:) -
Latest holster
ComputerDoctor replied to alpha2's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I really like your end results:) Personally, I would use a 'top strap' and snap, that gives me more assurance that the 'piece' won't just 'flop out' when I hit a bump on my motorcycle, when I usually open carry, which is legal in Missouri:) Sam -

Bifold Wallet

Very nice work! It still amazes me that something that looks like it should be easy in fact ends up being a LOT of work! Only a leather worker knows what I'm talking about: You are bored and you spy some nice scrap laying around, so ya think; "Well maybe a little wallet project!" and then the hours stack up! Fun but labor intensive. To me, it's all fun and a nice little hobby:) Sam
