Thanks Brian The way i have it planned is for the holder to be holding the end of the extension lead that come with the Dremel, not the actual main machine, that would be hanging up on its own holder alongside
-
Thought a bit more about the dremel skiver Head on the right and seperate is the holder of the dremel flexible extension cable the fitting should be able to move at any angle required and adjustable for height The main body has a adjustable height table and the slots through the support and thread enable fixed 90 deg height with bolt through the slots Not printed one yet but welcome comments design of unit about 180mm x 140 mm deep

Strongest Adhesion But Most Flexible Contact Cement For Leather
chrisash replied to Toddo's topic in How Do I Do That?
Somehow i doubt that felt will have a very long life before it looks tatty with wear, have you thought of lining with thin leather, much more hard wearing -
I have one of those small handle (just one hand width long) hammers and have covered the head in a layer of goat skin veg tan, find its just the right weight for tapping down and the leather head stops it marking
-
Rather than stick to the computer you may be better just making a travel case for it like here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tl4V2vcsRl8 If you are determined to cover in leather then maybe something like goat veg tan a very thin soft leather would be a good look but taking it off later would leave a very nasty looking computer unless you have some strong glue that comes off i have not heard of

Harry If you want you can buy it and store it at mine free of rent and you would be helping Matt out and your wife would never know you have brought it

Opinions Requested: Cowboy Sewing Machine vs. Cobra

You can build up your knowledge like Wiz based upon many years experience, but to the rest Local service is a great selling point and normally great value -
There are lots of kitchen fitters and stone masons who have small scrap pieces of Granite
-
Interesting from Rocky as always, I have no intention of making one, but having looked at alternatives I don't like the pulled through versions and the motor versions are so expensive, maybe i will give it some more thought and might make one to see if it works Maybe the roller could be changed for a fixed plate to both keep the leather flat and also save finger tips
-
actually you could use the flexible shaft to position the Dremel out of the way and make things a lot easier
-
Just thinking aloud about the high price of motorised skivers and had a thought, why not take a dremel with a say 1 inch 4cm rough sanding bit, make a table with a hole cut out to fit a small length of the sanding bit showing through, so essentially you have a table with a dremel fitted at a slight angle below, with its bit just showing slightly above the table at a angle to be used as a skiver Dremels already come with rubber bits to hold rough sanding disks so not much work to make a longer one. The table could have a roller on top to press down the leather when it passes the bit and the height and the angle of the grinding bit could be adjustable quite easily Does it make sense or does someone have one already made

From my small knowledge so far, the difference in size can be a problem with shrinkage for larger models I thought i would make a simple sample size spool of the filaments and used a central tube of 50mm with a thread on the end plus a nut the same size 50mm, (typical of the centres of most spools) When i printed both parts out the measurement between the outside of the tube thread was 48.8mm and the inside thread diameter was 46.2mm, both using the same PLA Whilst you can scale up/down a sample , doing things 2 or 3 times is a bit of a pain, and the shrinkage does not appear to be something you can make a graph of to eliminate the problem very accurately, though still learning and new to printing , i guess others may have found a solution or used better filaments

With the tyre still on, you could just use friction for a direct connection and do away with the belt -
I had assumed that supports "ON" in the slicer would overcome the overhang, myself i have not come across the thread twist problem , so just a idea and not much use to me apart from improving my understanding of fusion
-
Knocked this up on Fusion 360 as a idea, either screwed to table base or g-clamp, with maybe 6mm steel rod with bolts either end to hang loose, about 220 mm width of base, easy to change thread and weight of thread should stop it pulling out

No music playing on my computer Harry, I would suggest getting a free copy of Malwearbytes antivirus and giving the computer a scan, its probably the best anti virus available and only a few quid for the software to buy after you have tried the free version https://www.malwarebytes.com/ If you are not sure I can come over and run it for you

Good Places One Can Sell Leather Items For Sale
chrisash replied to stampingdelight's topic in Marketing and Advertising
I think you will find that the people reading Facebook are looking for stories from other people, they are not looking to buy, there is the odd chance you may strike lucky with the odd one, but that's about all Now if your showing on Google, Amazon, Ebay and your own site, the chances are far higher as people are looking to buy, maybe not your product but they are nearly all looking to buy Price is a major item in selling online, but if you can explain the benefits of your item over others priced lower, you can still win, that's not slagging off the lower priced version, but explaining say, your leather comes from a 100+ year old tannery, took a year to tan and they also supplies leading quality makes like Hermes or Tiffanys/Harrods, give them some story -
Is this stitching weakening the belt loop?

There are odd occasions where in a emergency it is better the joint fails, for instance imagine falling /sliding down a steep bank, the axe may do more damage to you attached than breaking free, just something to consider depending on your own circumstances -
In Great Yarmouth maybe 10-20 years ago (memory makes time hard to be precise) there was a painting shop for the tourists where they could pay to have a oil painting made just for themselves The process was quick and quite different from what most people would consider a artist to do, what happened was there was about 8 artists all working in their own area of expertise The first would define the painting by a sketch, the second a expert in sky would paint the sky, next expert would fill in the sea, next the land next the chocolate box house and so on Each was a expert painter of a very small detail and could work very quickly turning out to a time limit The end results whilst not acceptable to hang in a major gallery, were actually very good and pleasing pictures Not sure what its got to do with this post but thought i would mention it

40W Chinese Laser - Engrave and Cut Leather - Discuss

One thing I admire about the Australians, is the CAN DO attitude, I guess it has been made by having such a large country with few people you are not afraid to turn your hand to any skills. -
