  1. Adhesive was obtained and tested. He did not freeze on delivery - Hurray! So, the exact name EcoSAR MW 116 NG. This modification contains additives that prevent the glue layer from yellowing when exposed to sunlight. Special thanks to my supplier for this - I at first ordered the glue without this option. Impressions of first use: 1. It does not stink !!! 2. Liquid and perfectly applied as very thin and even layer. 3. Corollary to p. 2 - an edge is perfectly burnished and almost imperceptible. 4. The time after application and until the parts are joined is 10 minutes. 5. The strength of glue seam is comparable to the seam, which gives the solvent-based glue. 6. The glue seam is elastic. I'm happy! Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions and advice that helped me find a solution to the problem!
  2. Thank you, Sheila. The idea, of course, is not mine. I met the description of the wet palette a few months ago and was able to make sure that it really works. Before that, I was afraid to work with acrylic paint, because in my first experiments it dried on the palette in just a few minutes
  3. Glad to be of help. Another little tip. When working with acrylic paint, one of the most unpleasant problems is the quick drying of paint on the palette. It is easily solved with a wet palette. I tried to depict it in the picture. It is necessary to moisten a napkin, but so that it does not ravel out. Paint on such a palette does not dry out for several hours. I use a closing palette (like the one in the photo), which I close during breaks in work. It also adds time. If I need to work the next day, I additionally put the palette in a zip-lock plastic bag for the night.
  4. We have winter has come: ( An hour ago, I got EcoSAR 116 at the post office. I really hope that it not subjected to freezing in delivery time. In the evening I will try it and share my impressions.
  5. In several sources I met the following: "Unlike natural latex rubber, synthetic rubber is made from petroleum products and does not contain allergenic latex proteins." But I'm in this issue a complete ignoramus.
  6. I use refined mink oil. Its only drawback is the faint smell of fish that disappears after a few days.
  7. Synthetic brush (orange) No 0 makes it possible to draw very thin lines. You may need to reduce the viscosity of the acrylic paint by adding a very small amount of water. The use of alcohol dyes generally allows you to make ultrafine lines.
  8. I found such adhesive - Ecosar 116 (Kenda Farben, Italy) from a local supplier. Water based synthetic latex. It is very likely that this is an analogue of what was proposed here (once again, many thanks to everyone!). I will try and, if it is of interest, I will inform you of the impressions.
  9. Thanks! I looked at the possibility of acquiring Aquilim (Renia), EcoWeld and HALLER Hirschkleber in Ukraine. It turned out that only HALLER Hirschkleber is proposed from local suppliers. Considering that there is a warning “Do not freeze” for all these adhesives, I’m afraid to take risks and order international delivery - we already have temperatures below 0 at night.
  10. Autumn has come, winter will come soon - and with them the problem has returned. Solvent-based adhesives are good, but they stink horribly and you need to work with them in a ventilated room. In the warm season it does not cause any problems. In winter, airing at a temperature minus 20-25 degree Celsius is a very expensive pleasure in terms of energy consumption. Is there a non-solvent based glue that provides a strong, long-lasting, water-resistant and elastic adhesive joint? Or is it fantastic?
  11. Sir, your attention to detail and thoroughness is admirable! PS. I hope that the word “thoroughness” in the English version has the same positive meaning as in Russian. I sometimes get into awkward situations with my creepy English.
  12. Mike, I always admire your carving skills. I have something to strive for.
  13. I really like your work. I am pleased to look at further photos of the process and the finished product.
  14. Nice project! How do you plan to make a roof?
  15. Sir, tell him that you can make such a bad belt only for BIG money. I hope that, despite my terrible English, I was able to correctly express my thought.
  16. I use reinforced scotch tape. The price in Ukraine is $ 1.8 per roll 50 mm wide and 25 meters long (2 "x 80 feet). Works great. The separation also does not pose a problem - the main thing is to wait for the leather to dry completely and, separating the adhesive tape, pull NOT up, but “back”, that is, in the direction of the remaining glued part.
  17. Thank you, guys! Yes, Sir! And your feedback on my work inspires me. Thank you!
  18. Thank you for compliment, @battlemunky! I am also most pleased with how the leaves turned out. I have long hesitated with the choice for this work - acrylic paint or alcohol dye. In the end, I decided to dwell on the dye, as it gave a half-transparent and slightly muffled picture. It seemed to me that overly bright and rich colors would make the wallet too flashy and gaudy.
  19. Thank you, Sheila Believe me, I do not have such a goal Thank you! I am always very pleased to read YOUR comments on my works. Thank you, @Willb2862! I believe that in the near future the same will sound in the commentary on your works. Thank you, Sir!
  20. Carving for another wallet with the same pattern, but with coloring by alcohol dyes.
  21. "Это стоит дороже, потому что я делаю это долго!" This is the most accurate translation of "It costs more because I do it for a long time". PS. I like your addition to the picture
  22. @JLSleather @battlemunky Fully agree with you! This is my favorite picture on this issue. The inscription on it "There is always one who makes cheaper" Hanging on the wall in my office
  23. Thank you, Sir. Cheer! Thank you, @battlemunky!
