To answer your question You mount the tool unto a table and pull the leather through which skives it down. The top screw wil adjust the thickness to skive up or down C.S Osborne had a model just like this one but there is no maker mark on the tool. I hope this answers your question. It will do the edges of strap or the hide. to help with fold overs and such.

I have a very nice example of a leather Skiver. This tool was used to thin the edges of Skirting leather. Simply adjust the height of the blade, mount unto a table and run the leather through. Very rare and hard to find , Our business is moving up and into more industrial machinery so we do not need it.I am asking for 400.00 Paypal ONLY but open to serious offers. I also have a leather plough on offer here. I will offer a discount on both vintage tools! Shipping is through Canadapost and tracking number is included! I will ship anywhere in the world! Please contact me directly. Stpehen 647-637-5229 sales@greenmanleather.ca

What I did was buy the leather then used the clicker dies to cut up all the leather then store in a box or shelf. This way you are not having loads of leather laying around. As for waste.... I tried to keep it then saw I did not use it so I keep it in the car for that oh so fresh cut leather smell! Think about higher storage units. Your cutting table could be on the floor to reduce space or a fold away table.. One mate had a two bedroom apt as with each project more materials and tools were bought.. Best of luck!

I wanted to open up a new topic on Leather machinery makers and who to buy from. For years Green Man leather has been scooping up leather machinery to make its empire strong and with fast production. We have enjoyed using Adler, B.U.S.M , Italian equipement and American. Over the years I have seen a lot of newer leather machinery companies pop up and start selling China or Taiwan made machinery. I wanted to know how folks are finding their off shore machinery and if there are any issues with quality of the machines they use? Money is tight to buy my double and single edge paintng machines for belts and other product lines. We saw Italian prices of 3400.00 brand new. I have been speaking to a Chinese supplier for the past weeks. He sells leather machinery at cheaper prices. I am enticed by the price 900 for the dbl edge painter and 650 for the single edge painter. Which is shipped via UPS and price INCL shipping. Alot of the machiney appears to be a direct copy of Bibo or other Italian models. Ji, has been very knowledgeable with his product lines and appears to have a decent backround in our industry. I am wanting to buy from him but have not purchased Chinese made machinery in the past so worried about this. The sale would go through Aliaba and payment is secured via Escrow.. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated and please be very factual on your experiences. Thanks very much!

Thank for the tip. We found a supplier in Pakistan who made everything we needed, tape clips with our logo on it and the tape chain. Its so hard playing with the big boys in securing hardweare for our products. we hoped to keep the order in North America but it is what it is!

Yall be happy to know my Jacks Saps empower the common man and woman and help level the odds. We can also be found on www.youtube.com look under impact weapons or Green Man Leather's channel. 15% off with mention of the LW forum!

New Percussion Belt
tat2 replied to antipaladin's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Really great looking belt!! But come on really? Hand stitched? Must have taken you a very long time to complete as well a couple blisters! You bought a Pearson and Junker, How come you did not use one of them? I have a straight edge and roller guide made for my pearson. It really helped me out. -
I thought to ask folks if they are against impact weapsons? Perhaps I should post on another site. Just thought there would be an interest as we constantly see leather gun holsters and other related weapon gear...
