BentleyLeather: Where are you in GA. I'm in Gainesville. Mayb e we can get together and swap war stories.

We've got that same press. Great machine and a heck of a price. It won't last long.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with Weavers (Master Tools) Creaser Embosser ? Or can anyone recommend something better. We need an embosser and don't know which way to turn.We have used a Tandy Pro for the past 3 years (nuff said). Thanks in advance guys,

James, what are you wanting to learn. Be specific.

K5HEP; thanks for the information. But are you sure that Zack White sells the entire butt or does he sell the scraps from other craftsmen. If he does sell the entire butt - it would be a great find for us. Let me know.

Does anyone know of a supplier of Horse Hide except Horweens in ORD ? Thanks for any help.

Lobo, great information and right on the money. js5972: Maybe this will help a little. This is our 15th year making gun belts. We sell both wholesale and retail and it seems that the most common size for both is 40. The younger guys, generally will need smaller sizes (for the most part) while the older folks will go up from 40. (either they get a little larger or our larger size belts seem to shrink). The older guys seem to go for Black . While the the younger fellows like the Dark Brown. This is a breakdown of sales (2019): Black -52%, Dark Brown= 33%, Lite Brown - 10%, Mahogany -4, Saddle Tan -1. We started keeping track about 4 years ago and the breakdown does seem to change a little each year but not much. Anyway, I hope this helps a little. Good luck.

Excellent job -
Got them from Joyce but they wouldn't work. Nice lady and a great product.
-
She had them in stock out of acrylic. Great idea, just wrong spec's.
-
JLS, I've got several of your pattern and they work great. Thanks for the product.

I tried Blackriver, I think Joyce, and she sent me the templets but they were way off, I couldn't use them. Now trying to find a new maker.

Does anyone know where we can get Acrylic belt patterns. Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys - I'll check with a couple of them. TwinOaks, the Makers mark is for a Wholesale Customer (we have several that we put their stamp in). They all pay for their own Makers mark. I don't see a reason for a contract. Am I missing something.

Who would you recommend to make a steel (high quality) "makers mark" ? I got one from Infinity, I think in CA, but it took a long time to get. Now kind of rushed. I have a Customer who wants his "logo" in our product. I have used the plastic ones but need one that holds up a little longer. Any suggestions?

Got 4 or 5 laying around and need to sharpen them. Can someone direct me to the best instructions to sharpen. Thanks,

Looking for a new source for Heel Buckles: 1 3/4 - 1 1/2 - 1 1/4 - 1 " (Round & Square - Nickel & Brass) . Order 300 to 500 of each size & about the same in each color. Don't need "top of the line" but a little nicer than "middle of the road".

One Or Two Top Stitches Always Come Through The Bottom..
ABC3 replied to Jbatman's topic in How Do I Do That?
Jbatman; Can't help you on that one but if I were you, I would call Steve @ Cobra Sewing Machines. He's the "go to" man with problems on sewing. He's a Forum Sponsor here. Good luck. -
Maybe, I don't understand your question but why do you need it square . You, if I understand, only need to have one straight edge to cut from. Go to HomeDepot and buy a straight edge that is about (I'm guessing) 8" long. It has a metal piece that connects the two. Thus an 8' straight edge (Maybe even 10"- I can't remember) & you won't have to overlap. If I missed your point - disregard my post.

what kind of sewing machine are you using ? -
We groove way before we edge. That way you are running your groove line on a flat edge (not a round edge).
