  16. I would be interested as well,it's one of the more tedious chores, but it finishes the project so well.I would like the shaft to be 3/8 to 7/16" to be strong enough to chuck in my Drill Press.Verticle shaft motors would probably be larger maybe 1/2-9/16".Please keep us informed how the R&D is going, I will purchase a soundly designed wheel.
  17. Great Work that design would have another application in my Game Single Action Shooters....To cover my Dbl Barrel Shotgun Tubes when it's in the gun cart!Check out SASS to see another world of uses for leather.
  18. Sorry I forgot to say that McMastersCarr in NJ has a great cat. and ship like yesterday!!
  19. I've used brass shim stock in Holsters,Sheaths even Specticle cases. It does require that you line the project though, but it makes it practicaly crush proof,Reholstring is a breeze!
  20. Nice work clean design,Rounding and Burnishing the edges with Gum Trag will give it a more finished look. The dyed background would also kick butt!
  21. Dixie,You can find the answers and alot of info from the Weaver Leather catalog. The shoulders are not very large so that limits the length of any project.Get the cat. an let us know what else you need! Also...Welcome to the group!!
  22. Thanks Twinoaks,My 15 yearold GD just flew though a picture forwarding maze to send a pic of a project I am working on.It's a Brass lined sheath for Cold Steels Lorado bowie knife. This blade of Carbon V steel is so sharp it cuts it's way out of the Factory supplied sheath in about a second! So I designed this case with a Brass Liner of Shim Stock material.Culmination of several month's work delayed by the one inch slash that this opened up on my right palm!!! I sewed it up myself but it took a while to heal, luckily there is not too much nearve damage,Remember to handle Sharp Tools an Impliments with care!I will enroll in Med School if I servive afew more months in this Hobby!
