How do you like those 95 Remingtons? they sure look good in those holsters!I use" Packing Iron "a lot for reference as it really shows you period gear. Thanks for sharing!

Tinyl... I puchased 1/2 gal V,I soaked 3 Sw pads for about 25 min in Acetone.Fish out the steel wool squized out the pads and stuffed em in a gallon plastic milk jug.Dumped in the vin and let it sit in the garage. It lingured there for a week or so.I used it with a sheep wool ,straight from the jug ,after cleaning the leather with denatured alcohol. The leather turned black as I rubbed it with the Vinagaroon solution.I then scrubbed the piece with a detergent/water solution.Dried it in front of the pellet stove and finished the project with 2 coats fiebings sheen and 2 apps of carnauba cream!Turned out Great and very cheap to do!!

I don't think the new Pres cares to support the services and it makes me so angry...Sorry I need a Bourbon,it's the only thing that keeps me half sane.My Son in Law is in Afganistan now and I get so pissed at those Elitests inside the beltway..I am embarrassed by whats going on in my country.

Hey luke good eye ..thats actually some .45-60s a touch shorter than the .45-70, there for the lg frame 1886 Win.The box has a drilled poplar block and holds seven cartridges.also doubles with .410 shotgun,.45 colt.I did another this week and tried that homebrewed black die formula...It turned out great.I have to thank my daughter for gettin this post on,She's tryin to drag me (kickin and screamin )into the 21st century!!I tend to lean toward the clean funtional designs but that toolin is really nice. There are alot of talented folks that post here!

James that is a great belt I have a period holster from about that time frame and do some work to recreate that style belts for SASS guys. They are BP cartridges,Union Metalic Cartrige Co.& Winchester. If you want a great reference book, Get Richard Rattenbury's "Packing Iron" ,Zion Int.Pub.Co.You will enjoy it more than I can explain..I have used mine so much that I bought a second one to keep!!They did have some bottleneck cartridges that were just entering the" Smokeless"era 30WCF now refered to the 30-30 Winchester...still popular after 104 years.James could you give me measurements in a PM? it would help my research alot! -
Sorry after seeing the pic ,we need to change that Shoulder rig to a Backpack..good grief what a Hog Leg!
-
Thats not a pistol thats a Club! If you are serious about a way to carry it, I would do a Shoulder holster style that has a bottom strap to hook to your belt.I made one for a S&W .500 Cal Handgun that turned out fine.I did however decline to shoot it when the owner offered!!!You know 600 Nitro is an Afican Dangerous Game Cartridge? It could also be fatel to the game!

I can tell you about the Whiskey...I have been on an Evan Williams 1783 Brand for the last year. It's their Ten year old Straight Bourbon..I probably shouldn't tell you guys ,I been givin it as Christmas gifts and I have had nothing but rave reports.Nice on the rocks and does'nt have that nasty bite like JD or some of the others.About 20 for the 1.75 size.It helps me deal with what they are doing to my Country here in the Wash Metro area. You folks teach me something every time I sign on!!

Carr52 that is extremely interesting..Makes our Single Action Army Colts look like Rocket Science! You have found others as well ,there is some story behind those I Bet!

Great carving only next time plan your holsters" pass through" and carve around that area..I wish my Oak leaves looked half as good as yours! What kind of Iron goes in that outfit? I always like to photo with the piece in it.I would love to see you do those leaves,I just gotta learn how to do that! Thanks for sharing.
