  1. Have you looked into options like Wix? They do all the heavy lifting for you. The only thing I don't go through them for is my domain because I want privacy on my domain registration (which they don't seem to offer) but other than that they handle it all for me. Just an option to think about.
  2. Thank you very much, Sir! That was the same thing I was thinking!! It's on my list for next trip to Home Depot.
  3. Haha! I think we're using the same patterns! (I did without the snap) Great work!
  4. Thanks! (Didn't see this till just now.) I used the Bob Park tutorial on here to do my edges and I used the Adams LeatherWorks OWB Pancake style holster pattern for the 5" 1911. I am afraid of using my snakeskin as it is so thin. I'm looking forward to how your holster turns out! Thank you, Sir! Thank you!!
  5. That looks great!!! I have some shark en-route. Can't wait to work with it!
  6. Thank you! Working with stingray sucked! No kidding I really did not enjoy that. I ruined my french skiver and my leather scissors. I have more stingray in transit from the supplier but I will not touch it until someone actually wants something done with it and is willing to pay the price. More for the pain in the you-know-what that it is to work with it than anything else. Of course, when the project is complete, there is no comparison. It is absolutely gorgeous. I love the way this thing looks. Thank you sir! Thank you very much.
  7. This is my best one yet. After my last successful build, I felt confident enough to cut up some of the expensive hides I had stored. Here is to wrapping up 2018 with my first exotic build! Authentic Stingray inlay - Black OWB holster for the 1911 Happy New Year everyone!
  8. Thank you, Sir. Thank you, Jeff! Unfortunately, I do not own one of Mr. Browning's best, just a plastic model. I use my imagination. I did the belt slots very last. Noted. Yes, the slots were the last thing I did .. I like the way they came out except of course, no dye. I'm thinking that a Q-tip can fit in there..... hmm. maybe I can fix that. -- Thank you!!
  9. I just found this thread and downloaded patterns. Thank you for sharing all of these JLSLeather! I will post pics as soon as I make something with these patterns.
  10. This here is my latest prototype (after about a dozen previous shots at it that I was not happy with). I am finally happy with this one. I will try to put up more pictures from other angles but I have to fish for them as my pictures from my phone seem to be too big. The back is good side out and the inside is lined with chrome-free pigskin. The front is actually three pieces. Two pieces of 4.5 to 5 oz and the inlay sandwiched between (but not out to the edges). The front also has the good side of the leather facing in on the inner part. This way, the future resident will only come in contact with the good side of the leather on one side and chrome-free pigskin on the other. The front is also slightly larger than the back to form that small bit of space. I did not water-form this one and I don't think I will. The model 1911 fits perfectly and has great retention as it is. Critique most certainly welcomed and encouraged!
