Hi Pete, Just inverted tooling, that's all.

Hi Dave, I've just been informed that yes, it is a pogo seat.
-
Just finished this.

At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot, what's a pogo seat? Shirley

shirleyz replied to hidepounder's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
That is beautiful work. one day I will make myself a belt, then again, that's a lot of tooling. Great work! ShirleyZ -
Just finished the side panel. I've got a lot of lacing to do.

Oil and Sun Dyeing ?
shirleyz replied to HARVEY's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
when I first started tooling I bought a couple of wallet kits. when I opened them they were both like that. Didn't know why on earth they would put lousy, two colored leather in the pack. I was a little p.o'ed and just threw them out. that's very interesting to know, thanks Jordan. ShirleyZ -
i am currently working on this. I will post as I go. It's a pretty interesting job. My customer is putting together a book about Pearl Harbor survivors today. To promote the book he is having a bike built with a pretty unusual paint job. It is dedicated to all the survivors, but especially the man who was most decorated. He will be turning 100 years old this year. The bike and book will be touring the country. It was pretty neat to get this one. I was just there last September. ShirleyZ

Thanks guys! If I had known it was a Paul Cox seat I probably would have tried to make it a little less similar. I don't normally do copies. I didn't use the same artwork though, just the layout.

Hi all, is anyone familiar with the leatherworker who made this seat? I just used a modified version of this design to make a new seat, and I want to give them credit. Mine is the one that says Exile. Shirley

Last of the Summer wine? Are they really ready for Compo? They might think he's typical of the Northern male. What about Nora Batty? Oh my God Ray! Think Man!!!!!! If anyone should watch Last of the summer wine, I'm from Arkansas. Shirley

Great Job Roger! You really brought it to life! Shirley

I'm with David, Gloves, gloves, gloves! (The girl that does my nails screams that at me) I spread newspaper, and I have a pile of paper towels ready, already separated, and slightly damp. When I have got all the c**p off I buff it with a soft dry rag also. You have to let it dry. I like satin sheen as a finish, and Pecards to waterproof it. ShirleyZ

Hi Other Art, I looked up Buzz on Wikipedia and I did see that he is indeed a yellow jacket. I don't want to sound dumb, but what is a yellow jacket? I asked my mother-in-law who's from Boston and she said a yellow jacket was a bee, but it might be a wasp, big help. In England we have bees, hornets and wasps. Does he fit in one of those catagories? I need to know! Shirley

Hi Art, Love the flask! I'm not an authority on football. Is he a bee, a wasp or a hornet? Either way he's bee-autiful! Shirley
