  1. Thank you, Wiz. I appreciate your insight. Steve
  2. Hey Sam, welcome and where are the Pharoahs? I liked your music in the 60's (LOL), Steve
  3. Hello mrdabeetle, please check out the post about the 107-2. Maybe it's what you need. You will probably need a 29 Class also. Thanks, Steve
  4. Hey guys, yes the Singer 107-2 is a chainstitch machine for hats, but here is the interesting part....the head is set on an angle, along with the needle. I have only seen one of these machines in 39 years. Steve
  5. Hey all, I will be there. I would be glad to meet with whoever I haven't met yet. For everone else.....see you there. It will be just as fun this year as all of the previous years! Steve
  6. Hey Knut, only the first swig, then your mouth and tongue blows up, then who cares after that! LOL Steve
  7. Back in the 1880,s, Sir Isaac Singer offered anyone, one million dollars if they could develop a lockstitch machine(needle and bobbin), also known as a 301 stitch, where the bobbin would be as large as the spool of thread. 130 years later, it still hasn't been done. The machine would have to be 10 times the size as it is now, virtually making it not feasable. If anyone would like to try and invent one, be sure to invest in a few bottles of headache pills, or a few bottles of Jack Daniels. Either one of these remedies will kill the pain that you will inflict upon yourself by trying. I know this, because as most sewing machine mechanics/expert's, have, at least on a few occasions, tried. Thought I had it once, but in reality.......wasn't even close! Steve
  8. Al, you are very welcome and my hats off to you regarding this cause. You and your group stepped up and I commend you for it. Great job on the vest as well. Steve
  9. Hi Charlene.....time to start over. Rewind a new bobbin, put in a new needle, rethread the machine, and back the top tension off completely, so you have the adjusting nut in your hand. Put the nut back on the tension post until it comes in contact with the tension spring, then tighten it one full turn. Test the machine. You will probably need to tighten the tension a little more, but only tighten it one turn at a time. This may work. Steve
  10. Hi Fundi Caleb, welcome and thank you for joining LW. Steve
  11. Hi Ray, the Singer 648 is a home machine made back in the 60's. I assume that you are talking about the foot control/wiring when you say "cable". You can sew very light leather on this machine, but be looking out for a true leather stitching machine in the future. Thanks, Steve
  12. Hello 1894leverguy, thank you for your interest, and thank you for joining. I would like to suggest that you contact the sewing machine dealers and speak with them(me included), and see what they have to say. I am sure that you will have a better idea on what you will need, making your decision as easy as possible. Thanks, Steve
  13. Welcome Grandpa, and thank you for joining LW. Steve
  14. Hi Jim, I agree with Bob. Also you are limited in thread size. It will only take a #69 at best, if that. Steve
  15. Hey good buddy, hope all is well. This is one of the reasons that some people are scared of clowns!! But I like it!! Steve
  16. Hi Steve, yes the Singer 29K60 will stitch thin or up to 12 Oz. leather as well. Make sure you use the right size needle and thread. For 3-4 Oz. leather, you should use a 69 thread top and bobbin, and a size 18 needle. Thanks, Steve
  17. Thanks guys! .........Wait a minute, maybe I should start charging you guys!!! LOL, Steve
  18. I hope you all have a Happy, Healthy, & Prosperous New Year!

  20. Hi BanjoMan, are you hand stitching, or using a sewing machine? All of my customers use a sewing machine and bonded nylon thread. It is durable, and makes a nice stitch. Thanks, Steve
