VERY NICE work on both boxes and thank you for taking me along on this build !!!

@327fed if you are running Windows , paint will resize very well . Use the pixel option not the percent , I can post several at 900x650 in one post . Assuming you use the Canon .

Really nice job on the sheath !! I'm sure that tool does one job very well ....... I just don't know what that is
-
Maybe contact the belt end down so not as much stress on the rivet ( it is just display right ? )

No high tech steel , nothing slick about how they look but they work . best $18.00 dollars you'll ever spend So your Dad king of gave it a second chance , very nice ! -
LOL !!!!! I had to look that one up but you're right I might could do pretty good on Dobby .

Owl lady picked up her box and seemed to like it ( that's good ) but she decided she needed an owl coaster . She didn't want the cartoonish look , wanted a more true to life image . Left to my own devices this is what happened , ( second attempt ) I was too ashamed to show the first attempt and I am not very happy with this . It may however be the best I can do , I can not get the eyes to round out no matter how I much time I spend with a modeling spoon .If she doesn't seem too thrilled , I'll just give it to her and call it practice

Nicely done !! Could you post a pic of the file work on the blades ? -
Well , this is all the loose change I could find and the watch . By my scale it all weighs 38. 6 oz ( box include ) . With a good tight fit I can't see much of anything one could put in this that would push the bottom out ( maybe lead or GOLD , which I have neither of ) . Look here 5 th post down I think , the strip is what I am calling a ledger . It could always be made of thicker leather or if I was worried about it , still with a tight fit , glue the bottom to it .
-
Really nice work and a great touch using his signature !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I do what I call a cross-over stitch and yes , friction fit , just sits on the ledger .

Looks great !! and he has a cool name as well as a cool grandpa ..........

This how I do it. Body is 2 1/2 inches tall and around 12 5/8 long but I just put it in the lid and mark ( accounts for difference in thickness form one hide to the next ) Do any tooling now , lay out stitch lines, glue and sew the ledger , then sew ends together . Bottom is friction fit ( outside of my form works for correct size for me ) and finish as you wish .

@PastorBob This is how I do them . Pick a form ( lid of the wife's candle ) What it measures + 1 inch ( gives around 1/2 inch turn down with 6/7 oz) Cut it out ( I used cardboard here because I haven't got a box to build right now ) I step in an inch for any tooling and mark border Do any tooling or stamping now and let dry completely . Once dry wet the flesh side with warm water 5/8 to 3/4 inch in from outside edge ( wet fairly heavy and you are ready for the form )
-
@bladegrinder Thank you , I am hoping she will be pleased . @PastorBob I would love to see your work on one of these and Thank you !
-
I wet it and use glycerine saddle soap and a glass slicker .
-
YEP , I'd say you have both the 1911 and the two tone down VERY NICELY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks good and I really like the " squigler " for a border. I have been playing around with that too .
