Thanks guys !! I did not know about the flexible super glue but I think this will be my next move . I have cycled this one 200 times and it is holding , now that may be more than " fair " for the price I will get , I just would rather they not fail before they are old and ratty looking .

My question : leather glued to metal and under both tension and then compression will hold up how well over time ? Can't really see a good way for a mechanical fastener , is there a better way ?

@spurdude101 I know nothing about this company , never bought a thing from them . I found them on-line ...... UMX in California . May be junk but they do carry the large sizes . At first they look to be suppliers of manufactures but their web site reads like they sell small quantities also . I seem to remember Federal selling cartridges in a similar carrier except it was an awful plastic thing and didn't really fully trap the cartridges . VERT NICELY done

I used the type on the left (SLC I think ) for a while and wasn't real happy with it . Bought the OSBORNE on the right and it made quite a difference for me . Being shorter it took a second to find a new hold but once I did it is as easy to use as the longer type. I think the added mass and a few thousands larger bell makes the difference but it might all be in my head

I think Doc is right in that whatever the reason ( made to small or as a result of setting ) the spring has no where to go . It must have room to expand outward , it should be fairly loose in the female cup .

I don't know how chrome tanned affects knife steel but have always heard not to use it . I have turned one guy down on making some sheaths for him because he already had his own leather ...... chrome tanned .

My daughter and son-in-law lost their dog of 10 years 2 weeks ago . This is my tribute to all the hearts this dog touched and it was quite a few . Now all I have to do is decide when to give it to them , I am leaning towards waiting a month or two . Just not sure about timing ............
