  1. Thanks. I appreciate it. That is exactly what I was hoping for. I plan on using only 2 thread sizes 138 & 277, & I was planning on using a 138 thread for my lighter projects.
  2. Thanks. What do you think is the thinnest leather is you have sewn up with the narrow needle plate & feed dog & get good results?
  3. Yeah I have heard this on more than 1 occasion. Lmao I'm not sure how the blanket foot even works, been trying to find a video but no luck. I did purchase the HE&P narrow needle plates & feed dogs, plus his presser feet. Is there any other presser feet you find handy? Thanks.
  4. Welcome to the group. Bunch of great peeps here. Enjoy!
  5. Yes I would get both of them sizes of harness needles. Lol I fought my stitching when I started as well, due to too big & the wrong needles.
  6. Guys & gals I recently ordered the cobra class 4 premium package with the extra accessories. My question is: Are the Juki TSC 441 feet compatible with the Cobra class 4? Is there any other presser feet recommendations for the cobra class 4 I should buy? I was curious if these juki 441 piping/welting feet will work on my cobra class 4? Are these feet to help aid in making piping or for sewing the piping to the edge of the project? Is there a binding attachment for the cobra class 4? Thanks.
  7. You dont have to have both needles in the hole at the same time. But yes smaller needles will help. I use a john james 002 & 1/0 harness needles.
  8. Looks like a 1/4" double cap rivet to me. Not sure what shank length, since 1 is not pictured.
  9. I'm hoping the same here. I wish RockyAussie wasnt in OZ, I would like to have some of his molds. Lol I need to get off my butt & just make them. If you dont mind me asking, what needle plate# & thread size do you mainly use all the time? Thanks.
  10. Beautiful saddle! Nice work. It looks great. If you dont mind, is there any physical patterns for saddles out there? Basically a paper pattern for each piece of leather on saddle construction? Thanks.
  11. Well keep us posted. I'm curious to see how your repair work turns out.
  12. Yeah I think I seen that same video. It talks about achieving a angle stitch with round holes. But i of course cant think of it as well. I do remember it's all about your cast over thread & how you cast it over your needle. Also it talks about the direction the threads are pulled/tightened when pulling up the stitch. I think 1 thread needs pulled up high & to the right, while the left thread is pulled down & to the left.
  13. Thanks Hags. Yeah I got the narrow plates & feed dogs, so I have the ability to sew lighter/thinner projects. I have also read that the narrow plates & feed dogs work/perform soo much nicer when sewing. Cant wait to get the machine.
  14. Thanks Bruce. Nice work on the briefcase & dopp kit. Beautiful work.
  15. Yeah I ended up getting a few rolls of each. I've heard a lot of this new bonded nylon has a UV blocker/chemical added to the thread to help protect from UV Ray's.
  16. Yeah I wish I could find more sewing vids of the cobra class 4. I found a few where they are sewing a project up. I just like watching them, to get a idea how things are done.
  17. Yeah I got a lot to learn on this beast. I've watched a few vids where they say the stirrup plate is good for sewing gussets on a 90° corner. For bags & such.
  18. Welcome to the group. Bunch of great people here. Enjoy.
  19. Yeah I ordered the cobra class 4 premium package & should of just bought the base package, then added the Hennigan Engineering needle plates & feed dogs. I could have saved a good chunk of change doing that. Lmao I'm blind, leading the blind man, going yeah I need this & that. When I actually have no clue what I all will need.
  20. Yes they are!!! Narrow slot needle plates & feed dogs. 1 of them is the holster plate. The other 2 are narrow slot flat needle plates & feed dogs.
  21. Please keep us posted. I was curious if a 441 could benefit from that setup. Thanks.
  22. Yeah I got a email from them today to email Ryan for a cost & never got around to it. Good to know the price. Thanks.
  23. Congrats on the new machine. Yeah I imagine the cobra will be a touch faster than the Tippman Boss. Yeah I figure my machine is at least 4 weeks out yet.
  24. Tandy leather is carrying a armor pattern now.
  25. Check out Pro Leather Carvers. They have complete sets or individual tools. I have bought a bunch of their carving tools & I am super happy.
