  1. Thanks everybody. I will take all the advice you seasoned guys & gals have helped me with. I appreciate it.
  2. Beautiful piece of work! Nice job looks great.
  3. Thanks for the tip & tricks on the cobra class 4. I'm glad you shared this with me. I'm glad to see this & you were willing to share it. Thanks.
  4. I think you might be able to use fiebings black dye & then thin the dye down to make a dark gray dye. I'm not 100% sure on this. But I think I've read it on this site somewhere.
  5. I paid $396 dollars for shipping to my front door from Cobra/leather machine co.
  6. Thanks. I appreciate it. So do most guys measure the overall stitch area to be sewn, then set your desired stitch on your machine & use a over stitch wheel to mark the piece being sewn? Or do they do the math for where the stitch will end on the piece being sewn? Also I have been able to recognize 3-4stitches from the end, whether I will be short or long on the last stitch. Lmao was just unsure what to do to compensate for it. Being a newbie & all on sewing machines. Thanks.
  7. Is there any way you could get a better picture of the said stamp you are looking for? Or possibly sketch the design so it can be seen easier? Thanks.
  8. Yeah I paid to have my cobra shipped to my front door. Lmao I dont have a truck, so I was limited on what I could do. It would have taken my forever to go to the shipping hub on my tractor.
  9. I called Cowboy & Cobra, but not Techsew. Residential shipping from Cowboy was $200 higher than Cobra's residential shipping. I ended up with cobra class 4 because of the shipping cost.
  10. Thanks bruce, I appreciate you clarifying for me, where each size of rivet & burrs are commonly used. Thanks.
  11. Hennigan Engineering & Precision.
  12. Thank you. I was wondering if I could do that. Or if it would miss a stitch. Thanks. I'll practice that for a bit.
  13. I got these thru HE&P. There is a #20 extreme needle plate & feed dog that I have not yet purchased. It allows you to reliably use 92 thread & a #20 needle. Here is the needle plates & feed dogs I bought.
  14. Ok thanks. I appreciate all the help. Me being a newbie & all to this sewing machine stuff. I'll see if I can find that video tutorial. Thanks.
  15. Thanks for the tip. So far my cobra class 4 is sewing back into the same holes in reverse. But I do like your tip/method a lot better, so I am going to adopt that method. Thanks.
  16. Thanks. I appreciate it. I keep finding with 138 thread I need to increase bobbin tension & then back my tension disc's off to almost nothing, when switching from 277 to 138 thread. I'm not going lie, I am a newbie to these big sewing machines.
  17. Guys & gals I recently got a cobra class 4 & curious how you fudge the stitch length at a 90° corner or at a border line. Say there is not enough length for 1 more stitch to be at the border/corner you are approaching. What is the right way to do this? Cause I'm a newbie with big ole sewing machine. Thanks. Heres a pic.
  18. No my hope & thoughts was to buy another shuttle hook assembly from leather machine co. & set it up for 138 thread. This is if it dont need re-timed from 1 shuttle hook assembly to the next.
  19. Thanks. I appreciate the tip on checking/testing the shuttle hook assembly.
  20. Where are you located? Thanks.
  21. I am not trying to step on the OP's thread, but @bruce johnson but do you have a pic of the Wayne Jueschke domer with the design it makes in the head? Also if a person was to buy his 1st set of rivet & burr setter's what size do you reccomend? #9 or #12? Thanks. I appreciate it.
  22. Thanks. @Wizcrafts I was kinda figuring it was a hit & miss type thing. If a person was to install the spare shuttle hook assembly & the machine dont sew correctly, then there is probably a good chance it will be re-timed. If I install the spare shuttle hook assembly & it sews good, what would be things to do to make sure? Should I try forward stitching, then reverse & back stitch. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
  23. I think Fiebings Mahogany with the Rose's colored red & green would also look nice.
  24. Guys & gals I recently bought a new cobra class 4, I would like to have at least 1 spare shuttle hook assembly. In case something happens. My question is: Are the shuttle hook & assemblies plug & play so to speak? Can 1 just swap between shuttle hook assemblies, or does each & every shuttle hook assembly need timed everytime 1 is changed? Thanks. Any & all help will be greatly appreciated.
  25. Welcome to the group. Bunch of great people here. Enjoy!
