I have a very lightly used Techsew 2700 for sale. The machine includes table and SmartServo motor with bobbins, needles and swing down roller guide. I purchased five years ago from Techsew and haven't even finished the first spool of thread it came with. Hope it can go to a good home. I live in Atlanta and am asking $1000 if you can pick up. I've been making a whole load of belts recently, and I'm slowly realising I need to invest in a leather burnihsing machine, to speed up each project and improve the quality of my work. I have seen a new craftool pro burnishing machine that Tandy sells for $350 CAD with their elite discount. Just wondering if anyone has any other recommendations before I pull the plug and get one.

Thinking that I was going to be doing more lacing than I am, I purchased a lace cutter/Beveler, splitter from Mr. Clint Sims last summer. I tracked his email down through a leather forum, as it seems he has an almost cult-like following and you can’t find these little machines for sale anywhere. He has been machining these tools for fifteen years and the one I got is the most recent generation. I HAVE NEVER USED THIS TOOL. I never even set it up and read all the way through the instructions that he emailed me, because my business turned in a different direction and I found myself not needing to make my own lace. All pieces are included, down to the blades that he taped together and his little hand written notes warning me that they are sharp and how to properly mount the tool I paid $310 (can provide all email and receipt documentation). I’d like someone to be able to use it. Selling it for $300 shipped, but also willing to entertain (very reasonable) offers. It’s brand spanking new. Includes all emailed instructions for set up and use from the man himself. Additional photos can be provided per request ( I wasn’t able to upload all of them on here).

Selling my JUKI LU-563 walking foot industrial sewing machine. I purchased it from a sewing machine servicing company who refurbished the machine in 2014. Machine is setup to sew leather. The machine works great. Comes with table and 3/4 hp digital servo motor. (Sewquiet 5000). Motor currently has a larger pulley to increase torque, but original pulley and belt is still available with it. Will come with a bunch of black and white M size pre-wound bobbins as well as magnetic LED light and leather point needles. Instruction manual and parts list and thread tree included. She may not be the prettiest, but she does the job! The table is not great, and bows down in the middle. I was given the table for free with the head, so passing that along. I will include the 1/2 hp clutch motor that came with it for free as well if wanted (just collecting dust on the shelf). Price is $900. Located in Sugar Hill, GA (45 min north of Atlanta). I recently moved my Artisan Toro 4000 to a small stand, as we moved into a much smaller house, and am selling the original heavy-duty pedestal stand it came on. Please see attached pictures, including one of the original setup with the head, motor, speed reducer, light, and thread stand in place. The second picture shows the bare stand as I’m selling it (machines etc. on the floor not included). The stand is height-adjustable, on casters, and made of very heavy steel. 2 pedals - one for the motor, the other for the foot lift. The top is drilled for the Artisan Toro 4000, which is a Juki 441 clone. $75 (which is a bargain). Pick-up only. I’m in the Jacksonville, FL area.

Okay I know you are all going to tell me this is a bad idea and that I should just buy a real leather sewing machine, but I don't have the money to make the investment yet, so I wanted to try this first. If I were to try sewing softer oil tanned leather with a normal sewing machine, what should I buy to make it work right? I hear that you can buy walking feet for normal sewing machines along with leather needles for them too. What do you guys think of that idea and what needle/ walking foot should I be looking at? Has heating element control and heating rod, will accommodate a 7 ¾” wide piece of leather between guides, I do have the manual for this machine, simple to use. Standard Features: Quick Change of Embossing Rolls, Ideal for doming and forming, simple width adjustments, adjustable pressure, heat control, standard rolls 3” Diameter, pattern 9 5/8” long, larger diameters available for longer patterns. Looking for recommendations for the best & most reliable post-bed, single-needle machine with walking foot. Sewing automotive upholstery. We currently have a Juki 1508 - good machine! We have Adler-Durkopp 268-263 split bar needle feed but would prefer a single-needle walking foot with as much room under the pressure foot as possible. Would like machine that can handle thread size 92-277 but 207 would be fine. Pressure foot 5/8" lift or more. We a bought a brand new Highlead twin needle post-bed walking foot and returned it because machine quality was poor. Prefer German or possibly Japanese machine. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciate.

Hello everyone, I am a beginner to leather working. I have done some hand sewing, but I am now considering buying a sewing machine, and I am looking for help knowing what to buy. I am hoping to keep the budget under $500, but I really don't know how much one needs to spend. I would prefer to spend less if that is possible. I was looking at walking foot sewing machines and thinking that would be a good idea, but you tell me if you think it's worth the upgrade. I am thinking of buying something used off of ebay or somewhere, but I wanted to ask the experts first. Thank you for your help! -Cole

Is it possible to sew mil-spec nylon webbing to 10-12oz english bridle leather by hand? If so how do I go about it and what needles and thread would be best? I'm also looking into sewing machines, is a Cobra 4 too much for what I'm trying to do?

Heya, I come from hand sewing world and am just beginning to really learn how to use a sewing machine. Currently, I am trying to make a watch strap and am having difficulties lining up the stitching perfectly at 3 crucial points (start, tip, end). Starting stitch should be perfectly parallel to the ending stitch and the tip directly in the middle. How on bloody earth do you do this (see the image below)? I am trying to sew at somewhere around 10spi. Also, what is the best way to start and finish the stitch so it won't look messy and the thread will stay put/secure? Many thanks -
Back before I owned a leather sewing machine I had dreamed up a few designs with the gusset seam as shown below in the photos (not this same bag, but just the seam on it). Once I got my first machine I quickly realized this style of seam did not appear to be possible using a sewing machine. It is not your typical seam, just an overlap of leather. I know it is possible to do this by hand stitching, but I had seen photos of this same bag in brown with what looked like a backtacking that a machine would have done. Is there a way to machine sew this style of seam I am just not thinking of (a patcher could do it possibly, but I have a regular cylinder arm and a flatbed consew)?

I have a really nice Artisan 5110 post bed sewing machine. Roller foot machine. Made for heavy or light weight material including leather. It has a servo motor which makes it very easy to control your stitch. Adjustable stitch length and it also has a reverse for backstitching (back tacking). Nice size table with locking caster. Comes with a light, two spools of thread and few accessories. Uses a knee lift and has a foot pedal for the servo motor. $750 + shipping Thanks for looking. Randy

Hey everyone, I want to buy a machine, which I can use to sew leather (have some experience with hand stitching). I have found one for sale, but the guy doesn't even know what model it is, he says it is some kind of "Singer". Can any of you recognize it and tell me what model that is, so I can research it and see whether it fits my needs, before I drive out to see it. It looks intimidating, I think it is for very thick leather.
