Hello all. I am looking for a supplier for a quality money clip in the style as pictured below. It is what I would describe as a cam lock style. I haven’t found magnets strong enough to be up for the task and this is for the outside of a minimalist type wallet. Thanks in advance for any guidance you might provide. Scott

Wallet and money clip
Fire88 posted a topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Decided I needed to carry my own work around instead of a store bought camo money clip and a kydex card carrier. -

I am getting married this summer and wanted to make a few money clips for my groomsmen. Work, planning and everything else has finally made me realize I won't have time to tackle this. I would rather ask here first before just going to a random place online. I am looking for 5-7 money clips that have a couple pockets to hold cards and the clip that is has the bottle opener. If I can get a date and initials stamped in the leather that would be good too. Let me know Thanks Mike

Hi everyone, finished a simple money clip wallet the other day and just wanted to share 2-3 oz Hermann Oak natural leather, Homemade wax/oil mix for finish. Burnished edges. Monogrammed it later (not in photo). This was very quick wallet to make. took about 5-10 minutes. Pockets hold around 3 cards each, and money clip is good for around 10+ bills. Let me know what you think!

OK, I am a newbie here but when I told a co-worker that I was doing some leather stuff he said he wanted a new money clip. I have also been wanting one so I'll "practice" on the first one and if it looks OK when I am done he will be my first customer! We both have similar money clips now, let me see if I can explain this without a pic. It is 2.75" wide, by 4" tall, with three card size pockets, the two outside pockets appear to be sewn onto the face and the middle pocket is about 3/16" in height and is collapsible due to the soft leather sewn between the two outer pocket assemblies. It has a 1.5" x 6" strip of leather with magnets sandwiched between leather and what appears to be a thin soft leather (or pleather.) One end of this assembly is sewn in between an outer layer and a lining on one side of outer pocket. The two outer pockets are then attached together via a 3/4" piece of soft leather between them, creating the collapsible pocket mentioned in the third paragraph. I am trying not to tear my wallet apart to make my template for the new one, so I am asking for some pointers on the best way to figure out what size to start out. Anyone have a template for something very similar? Any other info you can throw my way would be appreciated very much. I have some remnants that I believe are about 3-4 oz veg tanned and some 1-2 oz mission grain lining (hope this works) I am not planning on doing very much tooling on this one, maybe doing some basket weave on one corner of the outer pockets . Thanks in advance, Terry

I have started taking apart old baseball gloves and repurposing them. I am doing these wallets right now. I really like them. I have sold several, and have quite a bit of interest. What do you guys think of them?

Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I posted anything, so I figured I'd do a quick update while the coffee is brewing. This is just something I wanted to do. I've been doing a lot of "production" type stuff and I needed to take a break and do something that would challenge my artistic side. I like it and I look forward to making more art pieces. This is a mouse pad I made for a Jewish friend. Happy Hanukkah! A fun journal cover I made. I've been watching a ton of Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones lately. Does it show? Simple folding money clip/wallet. A nice dress belt. An ex-serviceman contacted me about making this wallet for him. I was really excited to do it, told him not to worry about a deposit, and got after it. I tried to ask him what he wanted in the banner and he never got back to me. After it was finished, he never got back to me. Still haven't heard from him. Valuable lesson learned. A Harley belt I did for a co-worker. The eagle was done with mostly a modeling tool. It was my first time using one and now I realize how indispensable they are. My pups Christmas gift. My brothers Christmas gift. The knife was something my late father gave him. Making this belt and sheath was really special for me. A couple more of the folding wallet money clips. These are also special to me. They are two of six items ordered from me to be carried in a local retail boutique. First time my stuff is being carried in a store. And now I'm in the market for a sewing machine. Business has really picked up and I'm struggling to keep up with orders and work a full time job. A sewing machine would really help me out and broaden my horizons a bit too. I'd love to start doing costumes and bags. Any suggestions? Any helpful hints on my work? Thanks for looking!!
