I am just a hobbyist and found a 10 pack of extra bobbins was nice to have . I keep 2 each of my popular colors or thread size available , so if you run out or coming close you don't have to stop and go through the winding process. You will need to do some searching to find a reasonable price but I found it was worth a extra dollars. I always have a few if not more empty and  ready to go , so I can do a one off without wasting thread.

Thanks. I ended up ordering 6, so now I have a total of 10 bobbins.

I bought 6 extra ones - then found the 6 I already had in another draw!

Oil, you can either get the Lillywhite oil or just get some light hydraulic oil (ISO 32), it's basically the same stuff.

To all you Cobra class 4 owners. Have any of you had to replace any parts on your machine?

Like springs or screws or any hard parts like a complete shuttle hook assembly?

Thanks.

Geez, you're becoming paranoid about the machine!

I haven't read too many reports of people having to replace busted bits on these machines (actually, I can't think of any off-hand).

No not paranoid. Just dont like getting caught with my pants down.

I just asked because if there was springs or parts that get weak or wear out. I would like to keep them parts on hand.

Sorry this took so long to post.

The top rows are the S point. The bottom two rows are TRI points. #25 needle.

I have to say I’m not thrilled with the S point look. 277 thread top and bottom through 24oz of Hermann Oak veg

Thanks.

Be careful with the screw holding the bottom feed dog in. It’s crazy tight and easy to strip. The screw holding the needle bar is the same. But I’m betting you have experience with that so it shouldn’t be an issue.

Guys & gals look at these super sexy stainless steel pieces of sewing machine porn.

Excellent machine work, just pieces of beauty.

Now I need the machine to get here to try them out.

They are fine looking. Did you order them or make them?

I ordered them from a great company & also a member from here. They are from Hennigan Engineering & Precision.

Super nice accessories.

Thanks. I'll make a note of that. I'll probably be getting a machine later this year.

Thanks, I will. We're planning a move and I'm not buying anything I will have to move. Machinery and such will happen after we're all situated.

Congrats on the new machine. Yeah I imagine the cobra will be a touch faster than the Tippman Boss.

Yeah I figure my machine is at least 4 weeks out yet.

That is outstanding. The prices aren't bad, either. Thanks for posting about these.

Yeah I ordered the cobra class 4 premium package & should of just bought the base package, then added the Hennigan Engineering needle plates & feed dogs.

I could have saved a good chunk of change doing that.

Lmao I'm blind, leading the blind man, going yeah I need this & that. When I actually have no clue what I all will need.

I'll remember to order a base package if I go for a new machine. thanks for pointing that out.

I think we all manage to get some things we don't need when stepping forward. Maybe you can sell the things you find you don't need and recoup some of the initial outlay.

I didn't find I use the "holster" or "stirrup" plates nearly as much as I thought I would. With just a little thought, the standard plate does prett much all of that.  I suppose if you were trying to sew next to a metal clip.... :dunno:

Yeah I got a lot to learn on this beast. I've watched a few vids where they say the stirrup plate is good for sewing gussets on a 90° corner. For bags & such.

yeah, prolly work there, long as the land is wide enough.  Mostly on chrome-tanned bags, I would think. Assuming we're talking about the same type of bag, a 90° on a veg-tanned edge would likely cause a "booger" (wrinkle) I would find unacceptable.

Still, it may be of use for like gussets on notebooks/binders?

Yeah I wish I could find more sewing vids of the cobra class 4. I found a few where they are sewing a project up.

I just like watching them, to get a idea how things are done.
