  2. Hey bobm4360 . . . WOW . . . y'know I just never thought to hit up the old archives for something like that. Our military has always sent out specs for anything to be made for them . . . should have known this might be out there. I'll pull it out of download . . . clean up the extraneous spots on the *.tif's . . . go take a look at my leather supply. I just might make a couple changes in these . . . minor ones of course . . . and then again . . . might stay true to the pattern . . . have to just "wait and see" Please accept my definite gratitude and a special "Thank You" for your effort. May God bless, Dwight
  3. Hi, Can anyone tell me about this machine. There is no model stamped on it. There is a servi motor on and there is also the original motor available with it (no photos). I don't know what the box is on the back. Does anyone have a value on this and additional information please. Thankyou

  5. Just poppin' my head in to say G'day. I keep seeing the snow storms over there on the news. It looks very scary, and dangerous and seeing semis sliding out of control along the hwys . But here in upside-down land, we're having extreme heat waves, 45+ some days. I've been on a break over the Christmas period, I have so many (planned) jobs that I want to do outside, but it's been so damn hot i can't do them, that's time wasted , so many plants have died. But it's just cooled down.....a bit , until later next week when it heats right up again. Mother Nature can really test us at times. Now, back to food: it's corned beef for dinner tomorrow, mashed potato, veggies and a cheese sauce. Stay safe during those storms 🙏 🙂 HS

  7. I'd look under the left side of the bed, right about in the middle of the machine. I think there's a stitch regulator adjustment under there. Just a vague memory from a machine I remember looking at some time in the last few years. One of the big dogs will no doubt know right off the top of their head.
  8. I can whip up a reasonable faux-haggis pretty well... not many sheep stomachs right on hand in the Florida forest but there's steel cut oats and meat (maybe beef w/some lamb), seasoning & fat, and some organs to make it convincing. Can't skip the offal altogether or else it's just oat-burger. I liked it so much when I got to stay in Aberfeldy I had to seek out something similar at home. Haven't replicated beans on toast, though O.O. I could go for wood pidgeon breast again, though!

  10. Friquant, I'm not using any machines. I'm hand-sewing and frankly, I'm getting tired of it.
  11. Although not quite a leather sewing machine, does anybody know how to regulate/change the stitch length on 5100 series Union Specials?

  15. Thank you Thanks and I hope your idea works well for you !! Thank you
  16. Bob Krovar said bend the plate to adjust. Will give it a try, or rob the plate off the old tensioner.
  17. @holster maker https://leatherworker.net/forum/forum/71-items-for-sale/ Please review the marketplace rules linked above. We need a picture, price, location and shipping info for this listing. Thanks
  18. I have an Artisan Toro 3000. When I sew forward my knot is properly positioned in center of leather, when I sew backward my knot is on top of leather. 207 thread top and 130 thread bottom. 24 size needle. 8 oz English Bridle. Is this normal or is there an adjustment to correct Issue?
  19. Standard Rivet automatic spot setter. I have the original catalog for this unit. We have set as many as 450 spots in one hour on chaps. Call with questions…970-200-6328.
  20. Hey there, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Thanks again!! Here’s a photo and some video of it in action. IMG_0578.mov
  21. Thanks everyone for your taking your time for suggestions & insight!!! I am going to order some different needles and thread. If the skipped stitches continue, I will do the suggested adjustments. I am snowed in for the next couple of days. Please consider this thread PAUSED for the next week until needles and thread arrive and adjustments are made!!!
  22. Yes, you can still get them in brass. Oddly enuf, my #1 son's belt needs a new buckle and all he finds are brass ones, which he doesn't like Shame to say it but try Temu
  23. Any James Bond fans on the board?? This is priceless!
  24. Remove the two endcaps from the left end of the cylinder bed. Turn the hand crank and you'll see the vertical feed cam in action. You can loosen the setscrews in it and rotate it to taste. In terms of order of operations, you will want to adjust the vertical feed cam first. (Probably such that the feed dog is at its highest point when the needle is at bottom dead center.) Afterwards you would adjust the eccentric that moves the rock frame (such that the needle arrives at the throat plate at the same time as the inner toe)
  25. I really like this, nice work and a light bulb just went off , great idea! Thanks for sharing.
  26. You might want to post a pic so we know exactly what you need.
  27. I am going to make my wife a two prong mechanics bet. However, the reason why is she’s allergic to most metals pretty severely. The cheap one you see on Weaver and whatnot are nickel. Her worst one. I saw a post on here from 2011 that somebody made these out of brass. Anybody still make two prong mechanics belt hardware from brass?
