    Consew 226

Just serviced and in great condition from hobby shop, table and clutch motor in very good order, will sew 3-5/8 of material. This is a walking foot machine for heavy canvass and medium chapp leather, VERY reliable!! Located in Tri city area near east TN.....will ship if interrested, also sell head only. Complete machine, sewing off samples, with new needles for $ 500,- firm. head only $ 425 firm. thank you call> two seven six six nine zero five zero eight four
  2. I am looking into either a Consew 226 in nice shape, or a newer Consew 206 rb5... Now I wonder how much difference there is between these two? Also like to compare them to a Singer 211.... I have several options and wonder if there is any opinion on these machines! Thanks James
  3. been tooling a lot on 3-4 and some 2-3 oz...only thing is not to cut to deep..of course all in all u wont get very much 3D out of your tooling....but it does work!

lot of my seat tops are only 3 OZ !!

    Hope that helps a bit!

  4. Having an old trusty Singer 211-155 and slowly thinking about getting a NEW Flatbed like a CONSEW, JUKI or Chandler...I was wondering about the look and style. They all look like they are a mint copy of a Singer 111 and also some parts will fit from a Singer 111.....now my question is: The Singer 211 series is, me assumming....the upgraded and stronger version of the older 111....why are these new machines copied having the Singer 111 as model?? And do I go backwards when I purchase a copy of a 111 instead my 211....of course, I would get a brand new machine.... I just wonder if a new 211 copy exists or if I just should have my 211-155 refurbished and use another 50 years or so.... There are quality differences in a 111 series and a 211...or is it just the design?? I absolutly love my Singer 211-155 ( wish it had reverse!!) but of course the smell of a new sewing machine...hmmm...well guess ya all know what I mean. Maybe some of you guys with a new fladbed can join in and help me out... Thank you James
  5. I have a huge aftermarket ( I mean huge!!) handwheel on my Adler 105-64 and it does very much help to slow down, but mostly it gives more punching power (touque) and that in combination with your smaller motor pulley is a great gain! As described in one of the post's, a mechanism like a speed reducer with an array of pulleys will help even more....and of courese if you have a DC servo with gear reduction, like Bob Kovar sells you are all set... ( I have 2 of them and love 'em!!) What ever works, what ever you can afford and what ever you acctually need is a go....keep us posted! James

  13. Very nice belt, deep carving and seems like a stout construction....all in all a top notch project. The only thing, if any I can see anything... is the somewhat inconsistence border of the carving to the sewing line....guess that would be the outer frame of the carving design....but in no means anything that takes away from your craft! Very nice, and very time consuming too..?! Well done!! James
  14. carving abd then gluing to seat pan....or gluing and then carving????hmmmmm...??

  18. Cool, I like the bold carving and the matching bold braiding!! Nice job!! Jimbob
  19. Very nice job, being a beginner you are doing very well....looking at the rivets...hmmm...a bit to much for myself also, but BUT...if you use copper and try to get embossed ones or decorated copper...hmmm you maybe have something going on there....sort of like steam punk style...all other items are well made for a first-timer!! Keep it coming and never give up!! Thanks for sharing!! Aloha Jimbob
  20. Hello folks... After turning the gent down several times, I finally agreed to do his seat...big job, big bike and being a BIG DOG chopper that needed special attention.....the bike is all white with black and red pinstriping, beautiful paint job!! So we was trying to match somehow the design, but without getting to loud and overly showy to take away from the paint job... Well, here it is....a beautiful black pebble grain 3- 4 oz from Springfield leather, matched with some Aligator print 4-5 oz also from Springfield leather!! Stitching is done in 138 fire red from "The Thread exchange in Weaverville".....!.. The inside has been higly modified, first a "Saddleman gelpad" ( both seat's have a gelpad inserted! ) inserted into the stock foam, then additional high density foam added on, last layer is a green high traffic top quality seat foam with medium density, topped of with a layer of 1/8 inch finishing foam....both seats where upholstered with the intent to make it as comfortable as possible for being a Big Dog chopper!! Let me know what ya all think.. . Greetings Jimbob
  21. So cool, very nice design and interesting material.....also your photos are super, try next time to have more ( additional ) ambiente light...small slave flash positioned left top of couch picture...use whithe cloth in front of the flash lens to soften it out....the pic with the window is great....needs a second or third light source to "clamp" motive from both sides to eliminate shadows on white wall behind model!! Light is everything in model pictures.....especially your cool designs need all the attention you can give it with a mega cool picture of the model or surrounding!! Well done, love your work !! Jimbob
