  6. Very nice job, being a beginner you are doing very well....looking at the rivets...hmmm...a bit to much for myself also, but BUT...if you use copper and try to get embossed ones or decorated copper...hmmm you maybe have something going on there....sort of like steam punk style...all other items are well made for a first-timer!! Keep it coming and never give up!! Thanks for sharing!! Aloha Jimbob
  7. Hello folks... After turning the gent down several times, I finally agreed to do his seat...big job, big bike and being a BIG DOG chopper that needed special attention.....the bike is all white with black and red pinstriping, beautiful paint job!! So we was trying to match somehow the design, but without getting to loud and overly showy to take away from the paint job... Well, here it is....a beautiful black pebble grain 3- 4 oz from Springfield leather, matched with some Aligator print 4-5 oz also from Springfield leather!! Stitching is done in 138 fire red from "The Thread exchange in Weaverville".....!.. The inside has been higly modified, first a "Saddleman gelpad" ( both seat's have a gelpad inserted! ) inserted into the stock foam, then additional high density foam added on, last layer is a green high traffic top quality seat foam with medium density, topped of with a layer of 1/8 inch finishing foam....both seats where upholstered with the intent to make it as comfortable as possible for being a Big Dog chopper!! Let me know what ya all think.. . Greetings Jimbob
  8. So cool, very nice design and interesting material.....also your photos are super, try next time to have more ( additional ) ambiente light...small slave flash positioned left top of couch picture...use whithe cloth in front of the flash lens to soften it out....the pic with the window is great....needs a second or third light source to "clamp" motive from both sides to eliminate shadows on white wall behind model!! Light is everything in model pictures.....especially your cool designs need all the attention you can give it with a mega cool picture of the model or surrounding!! Well done, love your work !! Jimbob

eewwww. I can't handle the little ones worth a crap. I've never tried the Kafka's though. I have a Mack 00 and 000 and the triple is just way too tiny for my comfort.

  16. OK, lets see,,,,I could draw/carve my wife in the backround of our unmowed yard, yelling loudly at me and waving a list of things she wants to be done by last week and me sitting by the pool drinking the 4th darkbeer and dreaming about flames, tan leather and chopper seats.....ohhhh and ever now and then I see Chancey in his winter coat in July sitting up there and ice fishing....ohhh and here is my phone ringing......got to go, they need me at work.....more OT...but I'll be back.... 19. As been said, a granite block, good mallet and a large wet bi-folded towl under the granite works wonder!! Jim
  20. Andy, that would work.....but big costs and lots of trouble....wonder what kind of knife you use....? If you have a sharp knife you should be able to cut every shape you want just fine.....try a German "Schuster messer" with slide blade or fixed.....have it razor sharp!! And sanding the edges wil help to finish it of nicely, little burnishing and a bit wax makes it perfect....(Bandschleifer...?). Practice a bit and you will be cutting circels around yourself in not time....I use a Round knife ,,,( Halbmond Messer....) works fine for me but needs practice.. Also dann mal los, und immer feste ueben... Gruesse aus VA Aloha Jimbob
