  1. Love the color combination and also the total look...very fine holster...me just getting a bit more serious with pancake holsters, needing lots of help...I do like the tooling and the large tread on both holsters....but I am thinking if over time the back of the holster...which receives a lot use and rubbing will harm the protruding thread? Not shure....thread channel would be way to go?....love the airbrush dye on your work. Very fine wet molding! Thanks for sharing...great work!! Jimbob
  2. Made a pancake holster for a PPK ....15 oz backplate, front is wet molded 10 oz from Springfield, sewn on Adler 105 with 207 bonded nylon...gun fits like a glove....retention is perfect when wearing the holster... Any ideas what to do better would be welcomed...thanks Jimbob
  3. nice!!!! old school...!! Love it!!!
  4. Me using acrylic leather paint, very light super fine wet sanding and then several super fine coats of neat lac.....some of my buddies ride their arses off them seats and the paint is still on there....hmmmm...??!!
  5. I do holsters on an Adler 105-64 model...not walking foot but much, much stronger then any flatbed machine....flatbed machines like 211 and 111Singer will hardly handle any real holster.....and as Wiz said, the full size harness machines are the way to go! BUT they are soooo expensive....an Adler 105 can be had for $800-1500 a China Harness machine as Wiz has will be $2-3000... a good strong flatbed for smaller and thinner holster can be had for $200-600....my 2 cents on Tippman....stay away from it...to expensive for what they are... I am no pro, just my little opinion here... take care... James
  6. I use waxed nylon thread in white or black, it works with a saddler needle, size 0 or 00....the awl should be diamond shaped and most times I do pre punch my holes....there are many opinions on how to make a hole, my stuff never came appart nor did it fail....also if you can get ur hands on some affordable and small amounts of bonded nylon for machine sewing ( threadexchange) that works well too in size 207 or 277.... I have been hand stitching for 20 years and got tired of it....now a German lady does it for me...she is a knock out and so durable....her name is ADLER 105-64....
  7. Very interresting, love the glas eye thingy!! Where do you get these glas eye's....they look so real!!! Well done... James
  8. lets ride naked....so it wont stick to our jeans.....!!!!!!

  11. smoera bred roemtomtoem!! No kiddn, nice work.....very solid and clean....little to much for my taste but good....dont care for the straps....I do not see a protective aditional layer of leather sandwitched between the to main layer to protect the thread from being cut by the inserted blade!? Thanks for sharing, show us some more of your works... James
  12. can you do one on fussing n' naggin wifes....?
  13. Black pancake has to big of stitches, smaller per inch would look even more classic...I personally love black with red stitches...looks sharp!...Bbelt loops are to close to the edge I think, will be worn out much sooner then wanted...love the maroon color on ur other rigs...and yeahhh....Glocks are ugly, no matter what. Nice work you show here and it is only my 2 cents... james
  14. Da-dit-da-dit Da-da-dit-da....!!! da-da-dit-dit-dit dit-dit-dit-da-da !! Jimbob
  15. your work is amazing and every time you show us one of your art works, I can clearly see the artistry and cultural elements of the old islam....very artistic culture indeed...I have been in several Mosques in Turkey and Syria and was amazed about the art work on sealings and walls....this old culture is so amazing and bears so much art inside that it is not to understand what is happening these days in the world.... neverless, I pull my hat to your talent and hope to see many more pieces of this quality!! Jimbob
  16. by just doing that....gluing it down!! If you take a factory seat apart, you will notice the vinyl top has been glued to the foam!! All seats with big hollow seat areas will buckle up or wrinkel up when not glued down....exept you do very thin ( chrom taned ) tops and make slots where you pull material thru and tight so you have no wrinkles...aka Harley Bagger seats,,,looks ugly too...haha... if you plan on making a seat with carved top, you just glue the wet top on the foam and then pull and stretch the skirt/gussets down and staple them down...when all gets dry it wonderfully stretches and smothes all leather and you have a sharp seat!! Make sure your top-finishing foam like the kind of glue u use!! If you make a chrome tan seat, use old cover and take appart..use as pattern to cut new leather....trim, pipe, sew and you are ready to stretch and staple too... Greetings Jimbob
  17. Now you done it....hahaa... we all want to see a seat from you now!! Remember, there is NO wrong way...only a different Style...so come on and make a seat... We are waiting for ur pictures.... go..... !!! James
  18. Hey, who stole my pictures??? Well, I am trying to put them up again, as it has been said...useless...NO, not me...the thread...without pics..... We need to see pictures Jimbob....so go and show us some seats!!! Ok, here they go >>>> Oh, and gelpads are available in different thickness...I do use mostly 1/2 inch and for big seats 3/4 inch pads....saddle man gel pads are affordable and super quality! Guess it all depends on the rider and his style he wants...I am always open on what the bike needs and the rider wants....but I try to do it as good as possible to make it tru leather craft.... Some of them seats in these pics are carved, some are half done and some are extensive upholstery with gelpad insert and chome leather only...!! Sorry for what ever caused these pictures to disapear....haha.....hope they will show from now on and for ever...or so... Have much more on my website.....just klick and look... Thank you for all comments and raised eyebrows about not showing pics...haha Aloha Jimbob

  21. Stil trying to move my Adler 267 head onyl, willing to reduce price to $875,- plus shipping, machine is in mint condition! Will send pictures if interrested....shipped in strong wooden craddle!! Call 2 seven 6 six nine 0 5 0 eight four.... thanks
  22. Hello Chris Good observation and thanks for the praise... Yes the carving could be deeper....but I am using 3-4 oz tooling leather for the top and about 2-3 for the skirts.....the reason I am limiting myself to the deph of the actual carving is simple...if you cover an upholstered seat with inlaid gelpad with, say...6-8oz then most if not all the effect of comfort is gone....these seats are mostly NOT bar hopper chairs, they will be ridin hard and I mean 300 miles plus.....so the comfort factor is important.....on the few hard ass leather only seats I do 13-15 oz skirting and carve in as deep as I can. Guess you have to go the middle way to please everybody....but then again, looks is cool but usability is first in my book....scooters are for riding and not for parking at Daytona bike week...haha... Thanks for checking out my seats....and if I ever get as good as Dave then I have myself a sixpack of room temperature dark beer...haha Aloha
  23. Bold, very bold....love it!!!!!!!!!!
