Thanks ya all...sometimes I have to lay down the leather tools and grab a brush or a pencil....then I push my inner button and take off to foreign lands of fantasy and artistry....I draw and then draw some more, paint and latly I do pinstripe everything I get my hands on......When I finally come back to myself...to my senses says my wife...haha...then I just lay down my pencil and da brush and go back at it at the leather bench.....Or I grab a mopp and do the floors, then do the dishes and later make the beds....BUT that's another story...heheheee.. And yeah, there are many good images to get fine ideas from!! Glad ya all liked it. James

Not a pro, but I have an Adler 105 cylinder machine, I would guess these are still around in Europe and in parts of your home country!? These machines are nearly indesctuctable and often still in good shape....there are many other good cylinder machines and some have walking foot....I love my Adler and will never part with it. It is a none walking foot, but a huge needle fed machine....all my three dimensional bags are made with this machine....most of them 5/8 or so....just a thought... james

I am very careful about recomending sources to other people, especially people claim to be sewing machine mechanics! And I do have been burned over the years by such people once or twice... Good luck hit me last week, Bob from West Virginia finally moved back home....close to my area. I have been able to pick up basics on some of my machines, like simple timing, tension problems and trouble shooting...and thanks to Bob Kovar and Wiz on here numerous times been told how to! But every now and then u need somebody you can trust with your beloved or badly needed sewing machine, somebody who does it right! Ol Bob is now settled in Kingsport, TN right down town... He is a magic man when it comes to sewing machines of all kinds! Short story long, if a.ybody needs a mechanic with 35 yrs of experience close to his area, give him a call 423-246-4520...and no, I do not gain from this endorsement....just want to make sure ya all dont get burned. maybe a good starting thread, tell us ur experience and let us know who done you well!? Just a thought! Jimbob

Take the wheel off and make one or have somebody make one for u on a wood/metal lace out of wood or soft plastc! You could buff the existing wheel down, so it wont have so sharp inprints....a wheel like this always will make a slight print in veg tan leather.... May call Bob Kovar, he might have smoot wheels.... James

Nicely restored and original complete ones run close to 130-150 Grands!! And Dale Walksler has one in the Museum standing there too!! Love this place... James

Paddle is semi reinforced ...( heat hardened leather ) need to make one for myself, have nice 44 special 5 shooter that I like to carry....of course wheel guns have different issues. I will hang around here more often, seems this is a very solid bunch of guys with holster knowhow! Again, thank you for all the info!!! Jimbob

OK, been making knives, sharpening them for 30 years and able to sharpen an ax to be shaved with ( show off,,,,haha) Water stones are used with water because they are more corse and oil would not stay on the surface....oils stones have a much finer cristal consistency...so they keep oil film longer and better....and yes they will clogg up...easy fix....wrapp a stone in a wett rag, put in safe container and put in stove and cook for 30 minutes on medium heat! The stone will be like new....now we all talk about stones, much more important is the way you sharpen, how you hold the knife, tool or ax...haha...what angle, what degree,,,,what steel is better to sharpen what is not....you can sharpen eventually a knife on a piece of card board.....it is not so much the stone and the oil or water....it is the way you hold, handle and guide the tool to be sharpened. Only my two cents, now I get back finishing my shaving with my old Marbles ax...hehe... James

Not sure if I showed this one here,,,,its a Ruger SR 22 holster to the liking of a customer...custom paddle in the back is for storing the holstered gun in a special console between seats....and eventually for short walking trip in pants or pocket...!! Still learning big time in holster making....but enjoying it big time....there are so many ways to make a holster....and so many ways to make it better,,,,so here I go. Thanks for letting me know what ya all think... James

Been to the Magie's valley motorcycle museum in NC for the XXX times....haha, they have tons of cool old bikes, all American made....and of course all assecories that go with these early hard-tails!! Well, these kidney belts really did the trick to me....so I just had to make me one and show it off here....hopefully I caught a bit of this 40's and 50's spirit and it shows a bit that I am in love with vintage and antique bikes!! (and mostly American made iron...yeahhh, a few Guzzi's and MV Augusta's are in my heart too...haha) Cant wait to ride back to the museum wearing my kidneybelt.... Let me know what ya all think... James
