Hello Ralph I think for the cost of shipping, I just go ahead and put in my carry on bag and bring it over to ya into Belgium...haha...been close to your home country but never stayed long....I guess you would have to take me out for some good 'ol European coffee and some Belgium Chocolate....hmmmm... But seriously, I am not sure if the machine is for my needs,,,,??! What size of max. thread would it take...some people say it can handle 207, some say it can handle 138 at most...? The 267 has a good reputation, so has my Singer 211-155....I just have to part with some of my babies, hahaaaa... Have you ever owned a 267? Thanks for the reply Many greetings and best wishes to you and yours!! Ralph

Seat Based Off A Traditional Back Piece From The 40's
Jimbob replied to Josiah's topic in Motorcycles and Biker Gear
She read that.......I am in the dog house noowwwwwww...... -
Make ur self a paper pattern and attach to the bike....so you see it three imensional....then go to the almighty internet and look for Cavalry (spelling?) saddle bags....the soft, floppy kind....then get some oil tan leather or semi veg tan in 4-5 oz and sew you some bags,,,,use a weld on seem's tomake it last....decide if you have singles or doubles, depending on how you mount it.....take some fine sandpaper and tooth paste, work the leather over well ...oil well and you have ur self a nice set of bags..dont think you need a liner.... Shudrrr....ohhhhhh....can I trade my wife and her shoe collection for the Chief...!!!!!!???????? -
great looking flip-flops....man, dont show them to my girls at home....or they want me to make em a pair or two every 4 weeks....haha....great job on this pair....and the advice about the "roll" for the toes makes sense....!! Thanks for sharing!! James

I have a Durkopp Adler model 267, about 3-4 years old and in very good condition....this is the machine head only....comes with standard foot, knee lifter, needles and different bobbins...small tools......also all original paper works and Adler manuals included!! Me realizing, having to many sewing machines....this one will have to go. It sews great, garanteed no issues and comes in a custom made wooden craddle! This machine and craddle weights about 145 pounds, will be shipped from Zip 24251.... buyer will pay shipping. I have pictures I can send if seriously interested... Thank you James

Always have spare bobbins, you look funny when you dropp your only bobbin and it rolls under the bench, cant be found and your customer is picking up in two hours... And you will fall in love with different colors on black or brown leather....looks so cool!!...So you want as said more bobbins for diff. colors....I have at least 20 bobbins for each of my machines...Make your own flat bed out of MDF, easy!!...and you will eventually need it!! First two days you get by with standard super wide pressure foot, then you will want a zipper foot left and right to get close to the zipper, edge or buckle!!!....there is more feet and you will want them all...haha....trust me!! Material guide is nice to have....but after about 5 years of practice you make a straight line blindfolded eating a sandwich while sewing!! Light is a must have, ur own night stand light or fancy LED...LED is brighter!! Check what system they use and get 3 different sizes....I do not know the Boss, but thread in bonded Nylon 92 for light work like wallets, fancy belts, then 138 for some heavy belts, chaps and such....207 0r a bit more for lighter holsters and horse gear.....needle size is according to thread...ask Boss people!! Only my 2 cents....now go and have fun!! James

Ohhh and I forgot, I did some research on the design...I had no clue either.....it is a pegan symbol, for good and bad,,??! Also a cover symbol for a later rock band....not my idea, but owner is happy...
-
Bobby... You gonna love the Cobra, I am sure!! The thread is bonded Nylon from The Threadexchange in Weaverville, NC...it is size 207.... And yes, I did glue everything down....while I wet formed the upper and lower piece. Then I tried to stitch as close as possible to the edge with my Adler 105-64....went better than I thought... back of seat has a little pinstriping line art carved and all is Vinegeroon black! Greetings James

Thanks, will call them and see what they have.....love their catalog...$$$ Good idea...Sylvia...! Maybe I can snatch a left over or over cut?! Have Lowes and Home Depot right close... Thanks Trox Will try this link right away....you are a true ADLER man...haha....thanks!! All I need now is a ADLER 205....and then I am set...hahaaaa.... James

A seat pan covered for a friend....I left the original high density foam of about a 1/4 inch on it and used 15 oz saddle skirting to make the top, the bottom is made of 3-4 oz veg tan and the dye is Vinegeroon... All stitching is done as close as possible to the edge with an ADLER 105-64...the thread is bonded Nylon in 138. A bit of neatsfoot oil, several layers of leather conditioner and a simple seat is born... Hope you all like it. James

My new 267 has arrived, now I am getting real exited.... I am in need of a few add-ons...like a zipper foot....left and right, anyone would know where to get a good deal on these and are there used ones out there... Also will have to make a table top to convert my old table to fit the metric messurements of the Adler ( new layer of MDF? ) ....anybody ever build a table tob and cut out the opening to make it fit....? Thanks for any input. James

Free is always good, but I think for what you want to do a bit on the lean side.....I have a Singer 211-155 and about 12-14 oz is max, will readily take 138 thread top and bottom and yes, as stated....1/2 inch sounds about right....you might need a larger machine for what you want to do?! But as said, a freebe is always a keeper.....and this one will make chaps and wallets, bags and such all day long....I love mine. Jame

Mike's sewing machine repair, he is in Lebanon VA....30 min from TN....but depends where u are in TN....he is very good and VERY cheap!! SEnd PM if you need help....
-
Trox.... just read they take only up to 140 needles....that would be just barly enough for 138 thread....but people say 207 thread is possible.....did I read wrong?? Jmaes

Nice, clean, pro look, slick!!.....Ohhhh and I also love the look of the bottom welt!!...Well done... James -
Trox, ....I am married....hahahaa...I will let her know about our plans...see what she says....hahaha!!!! Thanks anyway about the great information, seems you know your Adler stuff....I will keep the 211 as back-up....never a bad thing to have a back-up when you in the middle of a customer project and something goes wrong!! So, I will keep dreaming about all these cool sewing machines and one day my wife will hopefully let me have one of them "fancy" ones!! Greetings James

I have a near mint Singer 188K, this is NOT a heavy leather sewing machine, but does nicely heavy canvas and light garment leather, also light wallet work...needle feed, good condition and either on table or with a attached motor to opperate....could be operated portable!!? Will trade for leather round knife ( good brand or vintage! ) or other leather tools....if it sells it be about 90 bucks.....make me an offer. Will send pics if interrested.....I live near ZIP 24251 276-690-508four james

Thanks you all so much, fine to hear that it will take 207 ever now and then...my main thread staple is 138 top and bottom, so I would be fine me assuming! Trox, I wont have a EFKA motor or such, I know there are great....but I have my trusty servo with rear reduction from Bob Kovar and that will have to do me... Also good to hear it can do thicker leather....I will do bags, wallets and chaps on this one....my old Singer 211-155will be a back-up from now on! I need reverse, the Adler has that. The singer 211-155 is a great machine, ( which the Singer 111 is according to others the better of the one ) just want to make sure that the Adler 267 can handle what the Singer 211-155 can do... James

I had my mind set on a Adler 267, but now I am not sure how well they work and if they can do what I need... Chap leather double or tripple, 2-3 oz veg tan doubled, some thinner bag leather three times folded....and the usuall wallet stuff, making backpacks and such.....been told it will not take more then 138 thread on top, but I guess that will do fine for me.... Are there any Adler 265 owners out there with info and also interested what other flatbed machine would be comparible to this Adler? Hope to get a little input on this matter. Thank you for reading this... James
