    Stleather

I have ordered from STleather before....the so called female manager is rather rude and always in a hurry...her English is rather poor....so you have to repeat ur order many times...till she has it straight....not a big problem, but does cost time. Now my first real big order came in....it took for ever!!!! To make her understand what I Needed.....the box came torn all to pieces, a second hand box....flimsy and not fit to carry a big order like that!! The content was poored in with no cushening, paper or packing material.... needless to say some items are damaged! Some rivets and snaps was flooting loose in the box and seems I am short on both now... Now to the leather that was included....a side of 2-3 oz tooling leather, it had across the hole side grease or oil spots on it.....absolutly trash....nobody could have used this side.... I did say when I called that they please hand pick it.....she assured me of that....it even said it on the order!!! When I called, nobody answered for two days....then finally this same manager got rude with me again, told me blue lies about there packing service and finally told me all leather comes that way!?!?!!! Needless to say, that was my last order wih STleather......my 450 dollar can be spend witj somebody else, somebody wants my money bad enough to be kind, honest and willing to serve me as a preferred customer...oh, and a little know how about leather would help too... Anybody had simular experience with this awful company!? I thought I let you all know..... Greetings Jimbob
Lass mal was von deinen Lederarbeiten sehen.... Holdrio James

  6. Johann Jo mei....do legst dich niedrr...haha From Bavaria.....jo do schau mrr scho guad aus.....sackzement Thanks for the reply, good idea about the patter and so.....my interrest was mainly about these beautiful American studded and decorated ones.....the ones they wore on these old dressers from the thirties to late fifties!! Some are so fancy, they look like artwork and some even come outof the Harley assesories catalog from these days!! So I will see if I can find a cow big enough to fit around my dear belly.....do some studs and fancy sewing and make me one just for the heck of it!! But first I will pour me a fresh Weihen Stefan Hefe Weiss Bier....then everything else is a brise...haha Greetings from an Ex-Schwabe und Bayern Lover.... James
  7. Been to the museum....not any kind....been the the coolest one ever!! The times through wheels museum in Magies valey, NC....ohhhh so cool!! Old american iron, old leather and guess what...old leather kidney belts....ever seen one!? The ones with stitching, studs and the club name on it...works of art and mostly custom made by the owner Himself.....or his good riding buddy! Now here it goes, ya all ever made one, have pictures or even use one....patterns, maybe some ideas about the material to use??? Yup, I am fixing to make me one... If ya all have some history or old pics that would be great...!!! Thanks for the info up-front... Jimbob and fat Helga ( 1450cc) Aloha...
  8. My two cents... A sewPro GR500 from Toledo Bob did the trick for me....was a total beginner and did not know the front from the back on a sewing machine....Now I have one on my Adler 105 and one on my Singer 211....my dear Singer 31-15 is next to be dressed with this servo motor......when my financial adviser (wife ) will put her yes vote in....hahaha... This servo has been a pleassure to work with....extremly slow and controllable if you need, very very strong because of build in speed reducer and as Wiz says...lower power consumtion too!! But as I said, take it with a grain of salt...I am a beginner....it helped me a bushel or two to get the hang of how to controll a leather sewing machine!!! Greetings Jimbob
  9. I am looking for frog leather, is it suitable to use on a motor cycle seat as inlay....? Wonder where I can get some green frog leather from....any ideas Thanks so much......... Greetings James
  10. wooooooopieeeeee.....love it, the decorative cuts in the liner are beautiful.....now the only thing is.....didnt see any flames or skulls....but thats ok, because your work is very fine craftmanship......I like it a lot!! Greetings Jimbob
  11. Like to find a few silver colored (not silver) conchos with a turqoise in the middle....dont have to be real, can be a foreign turqoise or a look alike,,,,,,wonder who would sell such conchos for not to much money,,,size should be not more then 1.5 inch or not less then 3/4 inch, round preferred but oval works too!! James

    Turquoise

I need some sf of turquoise colored leather....about 1-2 max 3 oz thick,,,,5-8 sf would be fine....making a backpack and need bottom skirt and some decorative strips in this turquoise leather...finish does not matter...suede would be fine too..?! Any info or idea..?? Thanks so much.... James
  13. Thanks Scary But I am looking not just for a "T" it has to be the specific UT "T" kinda round shaped .....just like a Volunteer "T" Called FOSSIL, they have a belt with UT conchos....but will not sell single conchos...ohh well Thanks
  14. The blue zippers hurts my eyes.....sorry.....just to much of a contrast to the tan leather....now if we add some more colors, then they eye says wow.....sort of funky and interesting! Not trying to knock it to hard....the shoulder straps need to form more of a ri-angle....so they wont slipp of ur shoulder. Guess how I know that....haha.... And one last one, try to use a weld inbetween ur major seems....so they are stronger and wont show the thread under stress (bottom).... Ur style is very urban and nicly slick...I like that. Be proud of what u created and improve as u go.....and about a dozens backpacks later it dawnd on me.....wow....there is still things to improve,,,,haha..... Greetings from a fellaw backpack builder Jimbob
  15. I am looking for UT Tennessee chonchos, either as a stand alone "T" or as round/oval concho with the "T" inside.....size should be large enough for a 1 1/2 " men's belt....silver color, or the "T" maybe in orange and white...?!! As rivet-on or srew back.... Anybody has any idea where to get those conchos for a reasonable price....?? Thanks so much... Greetings James
  16. Question: Friend of mine has a singer 128 with so called bullet shuttle....I have a Singer 99K and some other Singers witht the standard rotating round shuttle.....these two systems seems to have been produced side by side for many years....we are now wondering what is the reason for that....? Does the bullet style shuttle has any advantige to the rotating shuttle.....? Was it cheaper to produce or meant for more heavy dudty work?? Just a few thoughts from two Hobby sewing machine freaks...hahaha... Thanks for the input!! Jimbob

  18. I bought mine a little while ago ....head only.....in mint condition for less then 100 bucks....table goes for ...new...about 75 and a clutch motor often for little nothing!! 19. Ur rig looks very clean and in nice shape.....I think you did well money wise....if you do the right thing and listen to certain knowledgable folks here you will be sewing leather in not time....also this is no machine for heavy leather. And you will be singing praises and thank the goods of leather sewing machinery that you gotten yourself a sewpro motor as Wiz said....got my two ones ( Adler 105-64 ) and ( Singer 211-155 ) and I absolutly love them too...me .still singing...hehehe....and yes I got mine also from "Toledo Bob"!! have fun and dive right in, take a manual ( download or order one ) and give it a good try...bet ya you wont need no service man to make her hummm.... Good luck Greetings Jimbob

  21. feels, smells and looks like old style European leatherwork.....amazing work and a super cool seat for any scooter!! You done well, I like the matt black finish....again, looks like old world leather!! Is it vinegreroon...? Love the deep tooling and even coloration on the tan and brown..... Question, how do you wet form AFTER you tooled so deep without loosing detail and sharpness in your tooling?? Again, outstanding work...well done!! Ciao James

  24. Thanks for all the info.....most of the leads are more than I can afford for 2-3 oz leather.....but over all leather has gotten so terrible expensive since 2 years ago....no fun in buying leather any more...!! And then there is Tandy, low quality....no good service and the guy on the phone has no clue what he is talking about... Well, I called Tandy in desperation....seems like they have some 2-3 oz on sale and the dude said it is fairly well quality.......so guess what, I will jump the gun and try Tandy's....we will see... I keep ya all posted!! Thanks Jimbob
  25. Thanks 276..... Been busy myself, shiftwork, kid's and some leather work for customers...always something going on!! wonder if you tool first and then wet form would you not save time....I dont see a reason for wet forming, then flatten it all out again to do your tooling, then wet form it again. Just kind of wondered how you do this.....regardless, your work is great and I have been seen some of your pinstriping and gold leafing....soooo cool !! I am old school, love that stuff very much!! It is amazing to me how advanced you guys up there in Northern Europe....you are miles ahead of all these so called chopper guys here in the state...heheee,,,like Sweden and Finland, they just rock in the old school scenes...Germany has some of it....dont know much about Norway...hahaha... Anyway, good talking to you....thanks for your info and help!! Greetings Jimbob
