  1. Here is my latest leather back patch, this time with one of the 'Twisted Sister' logos. The black is Fiebings Pro Oil dye, the other colours are airbrushed with Createx, Ecoflow and Lumiere paints. If you would like to see how it was painted, please follow this link. http://www.lordofleather.com/twistedsisterhowto.html
  2. From the album: Misc Projects

Work in progress on a Twisted Sister Back patch. Next the paint and dye will be touched up around the edges before clearcoat and lacing around the edge.
  3. Fantastic!
  4. Looks very nicely made and I like that lacing. As have been menioned, maybe a two tone effect could have been obtained on the tooled area to make it stand out more.
  5. Thanks for sharing that. They're fantastic. Thanks for sharing that. They're fantastic.
  6. Excellent work. The braid looks especially good and helps to 'finish' it off. I hope that mine will turn out as nice.
  7. Very nice and original wallet. Do you use a real stone to get the stone looking boarder or is it done with traditional tools? Superb work.
  8. I like it, especially the two tone lacing. Is it more difficult to splice or end the lacing compared to one colour lacing? Looks great!
  9. Very nice and original looking. What finish do you use on the stingray?
  10. Stunning work! I especially like the terminator one. Did you use an airbrush to do the shading?
  11. It looks great. If i did something like that id have had to make it a little wider to get my mitts in. It looks very classy.
  12. Hello and welcome to the forum Mark. Your leatherwork is fantastic. I look forward to looking at your pictures and website over the weekend. I'm Paul and live in Herefordshire.
  13. Just seen this post. The width of the the circles on the 2nd design may be a little ambitious for your first projects. Id try to make circles slightly wider if possible so that errors in transfering the outlines and cutting are less obvious. The same applies to cutting them with the swivel knife. I would use something round to trace around or use a compass to scribe the circles. As has been already mentioned, try to make few, long sweeping cuts with constant pressure to achieve more uniform depth as you go around. A well stropped knife is essential on properly cased leather. Keep practicing and feel free to message me if you would like me to clarify anything. Good luck.
  14. Thanks for the links I'll give it a try when I finish my current projects.
  15. Wow, I like it. I wouldnt mind having a go at this type of portrait. Did you get the image by using photoshop or similar to change the contrast of a picture and convert to just black and white?
  16. I think it looks pretty good to me with a fair price for a hand tooled, hand sewn wallet. One of the better ones ive seen on etsy. Good work! However, I would have just posted the pictures here, not the etsy link.
  17. Welcome, from England! You found a great forum to learn about leatherwork. I've not made any tack yet buy my first piece will be a name band for a friends horse to go across the bridle (at least I think thats what its called). After that, Id like to learn more about making horse tack. Enjoy the forum, I've learnt so much here. Ive not been to Norway yet but will be in Finland next month
