  1. I've gotta make me one of those!! That looks great!!!
  2. Wow, very nice. I love the colors and finish. I hope to see more.
  3. If my wife sees that, she would have to have one!! Very nice Tina.
  4. There are several banner ads, at the top of the page, from vendors that sell sewing machines. I'm also in the process now of trying to decide which one I want and can afford. Be sure to check them all out and talk to them. The ones I've spoken to so far have been really helpful. I hope this helps.
  5. I bought the black to try it. It's ok. It says you don't have to do anything to the edge but put the dura edge on it. Not the case. You still have to burnish the edges to get them smooth, then I have yet to get the finish like it shows in the picture. The best edge finishing process is by far the one written by Hidepounder. I haven't had it on anything long enough to know how well the finish will last.
  6. I've tried using canvas to burnish, but never had much luck. I use a dremel burnishing tool. It seems to work pretty good for me.
  7. I've seen this several times about other Tandy stores. Does anyone know why the managers leave? Is it a Tandy policy where a store manger doesn't stay in the same store for very long?
  8. One thing about using a fan motor is that it will get too hot if used for very long. A fan motor has air moving through it while running, so it keeps it cool. Just my .02
  9. Thank you Bobby. That was really great information. I will have to try the airbrush.
  10. Thanks Ken. I will have to experiment with that and see what looks best. How do you apply it? airbrush? wool dauber?
  11. I bought a smart phone case kit from Tandy, and it was folded the wrong way too. I guess it's to protect the tooling side.

Oh, the tooling side was out, but it was folded in half the wrong way. So it ended up with half the pattern was on the front and half the pattern was on the back – when it was folded correctly. Because the sides are longer than the bottom of the front and back, the liner only fits on one way. Just imagine that wallet on the left (in the gallery images) folded in half the other way…..

  12. That looks great. I really like the buckstitching. What did you use for the mold?
  13. Maybe that's part of my problem too. I was using the mahogany oil dye and it was darker than I thought it should be, but maybe that's just the way it is.
  14. No, I was careful that my hands were clean. I think that I was swabbing a little too slow and caused it to be too dark.
  15. Thanks Big O and Johnny. I actually have an airbrush that I've never used. It came in a kit with something else I wanted. I guess I'm gonna have to find an airbrush compressor and try the airbrush.
  16. I'm sure this is beating a dead horse. The last several pieces I've dyed have had light and dark spots. I'm using a wool dauber to apply the dye. I've tried wiping it off as soon as I noticed it was too dark. The darker dyes seem to be worse than the lighter dyes. Any suggestions? Is there a book that can help me? I might add that USMC black is great to have around too!!
  17. Very nice! My wife would love it, the Arab is her favorite breed. What did you use to color it?
  18. I've purchased from them twice now. Both times have been excellent. I ordered on Friday and the package was waiting on me monday when I got home. Great place!!
  19. Nice job. What font did you use for the lettering?
  20. Did you say sewing machineS you got for Christmas?
  21. I ordered some of the Fiebing's Dura Edge. It says it will hold up to flexing and use. Time will tell.
  22. Nice job! Great work with the basket weave stamp. It looks like I close my eyes when using the basket weave stamp.
