  1. Hi TNF first welcome to the site and to reply to your question a simple way that i use is to clamp a steel ruler across the work piece with two g clamps and use the ruler as a base line... you just but the stamp against the edge and all you have to do is watch for your gaps

  3. LOL you might be right been in there all week and start night shift so im wacked im having to hand stitch the skirts on a saddle restoration and its geting teedious and looked like a no end job... LOL

Hi abn ive looked at the pic of that key fob and like the work its very nicely stitched and clean cut but we dont have that sort of thing over here and i cant figure how it works please explain to me as i like the look of it, Don or is it only to hang the keys on and no special compartment as ive seen on here before?

  20. im restoring a saddle at the moment and it has wool felt instead of sheep skin was this comon and is it done today on modern western saddles?
  21. interesting post, Im restoring a saddle at the moment its about 110 years old maybe + or - 10 its so hard to put an exact date on them when its unmarked ..anyway this tree is solid and drilled and there are nailes all over the place, the only thing that surprised me is that the rawhide covering has come apart in a few places because it was stitched together with hanf thread was that general practice? or would it not have been better to lace it with rawhide? how are they done today? ok its done its time and wont be ridden any more and probbably hasnt been for ages but it held up cheers Don
