ok you can get a roller foot for the consew... cheap on ebay. We use them for sewing 3-4 mm leather and be sure to get a set of feed dogs and file them down so as not to chew up the back of the leather.... also our machines are compound or needle fed
So I have access to a 150 watt laser and am looking for tips and helpful information. Like cleaning the burnt edges and of course the smell of the burn leather...any advice?
thanks
Lewis
i have priced a lot of die shops and texas is one of the most affordable with high quality ! They have made me at least 10 dies this year and I am a small guy.......
sorry about that I read you said you finally bit the bullet and thought 1 st project.... Yeah I am still a novice but sometime I do a little edge finishing and then sew and lastly rework the edge
hey for a first project it looks good. Practice... try looking on you tube for Ian Atkinson... he has great tutorials like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0EL7K2NhYs
or Nigel Armitage
both are amazing leatherworkers...
thanks I have access to that type of cmc... and also do the laser and like you need to learn more about transitioning to the cmc for some things... I like to use the laser to lightly etch the design onto the leather rather than tracing before i go old school and knife cut..
thanks

i like many others are trying to find a local market to make a few dollars,, just curios what you typically charge for key fobs and assorted other Items. I don't want to be too cheap
you know its kinda funny but I have a couple machines that are walking foot machines for leatherwork at home.. but then I get a job working in a professional leather environment and they use smaller machines with a needle feed... or unison feed
