  1. Johanna, I've smoked for 35 years now. I have only tried to quit once, and that took laser therapy, and hypnosis. It only lasted about 3 weeks. I know the hell people go through when they try to quit. I come from a long line of smokers, and as the Stephen King book goes, lost a lot of fingers because of it. But it is My Choice to smoke, and for whatever reason I choose to give, it is my choice. I think that along with your own will power, the Chantrix, or the Patch or whatever, you will also get all the encouragement you need from all the people here on Leatherworkers that love you. That being said, YOU HAVE UNTIL INDEPENDANCE DAY that's it, then the hat DOES COME OFF, your choice, as it is your choice to smoke.
  2. Johanna, I have the perfect solution for you. You can take it as a threat if you so desire. You have ONE MONTH yes you read that right. ONE MONTH, if you do not quite smoking by July 4th INDEPENDANCE DAY for all my American friends. The tin foil hat comes OFF...yes OFF. I don't know if you saw the pics of me sandblasting in "All about Us" well you can't tell from the pics, but I am wearing the tin foil hat under that helmet that feeds me air. Now Independance Day is the PERFECT day to say "I am INDEPENDANT" and no longer dependant on smokes. I know you can do it. If the little train did it, SO CAN YOU. ONE MONTH Johanna, and we all know the hell you'll be in if the tin foil hat comes OFF
  3. Roger, that is some great looking work you've done there. I just gotta get me one of those pebblers. What weight of leather did you use? And are you going to post pictures of the vest once it's laced on" Would love to see it. Ken
  4. Kathy, that little critter is just soooo cute. I think it would be a very sad day if it ever ended up in the freezer. You should make it your new house pet, I'm pretty sure such a young lady such as yourself has the time and stamina to house train one of those. Just think, a few years from now......not the Freak Show......But Leno, or Letterman shows. Ken
  5. Well another day done. Man I think I'm a bit too old for this, but once commited, I have to stay. And what the hell, he is paying me quite well to boot. By the end of the summer I can hit the Tandy store, the Leather wholesaler, and maybe even get a bunch of Barry King tools as well to keep me busy over the winter. Tom, would have loved to go to Scotland, one of my all time "Want to see" places. I think I could wander the countryside there for years and never get tired of it. Well off to bed, real work again in the morning. Ken
  6. This morning while sitting in the truck waiting for it to warm up, the UPS guy showed up. He had my PIF from Shirleyz for me. I was unable to get a picture of it at the time, and the batteries are dead from all the pictures I had taken at my sandblasting gig, so I will post a pic in the next day or two. Thank you Shirley, I just love the "Black Vested Lady" a wonderful addition to my office. Ken
  7. Well a good friend of mine asked me if I could help him out for a few weeks with his sandblasting business. Not expecting it to be too terribly bad I said sure why not. Well here's some pictures of me at work. Man I'll tell you what.....this sure isn't as easy as pounding leather all day. But I commited myself to help him out for the summer, after him only asking for a few weeks. There is a bonus to it all, I get an all expenses paid trip to Montreal, Quebec next week to see and explore the Kenworth truck factory there. A small sandstorm Got tired of standing A bigger sandstorm After a five minute rain and hail storm, had to shut here down.....YEAH I'm sandblasting driveways and sidewalks to expose the aggregate to make it look real nice. This is becoming very popular in the new housing areas of Calgary. Ken
