jbird, great looking work. You've come a long ways in a short time. Thanks for sharing. Ken -
sodapop, the Dragon looks real good. As too the "land locked" areas, what would most likely work best is to use a checkered pear shader, or even a backgrounder, then you can feather out from the outer edges of the dragon to give it just a bit of backgrounding. This will take the land locked areas and give them some depth, as well as the rest of the picture. Ken

Your work looks really nice, very well constructed, thanks for posting. Well Crystal, it all boils down to Johanna..... Today is June 13th, and YES it is FRIDAY, so we have a Friday the 13th, Johanna I think is STILL SMOKING, and airport security gave me a REAL hard time about the tinfoil hat when going through the metal detectors at the airport in Montreal. Leaving Calgary the other day, security here had no problems with it, they actually understood the reasons I wear it. So Johanna, if your still sneaking out to the back porch, you had better stop it or we all know what's going to happen. Crystals puter is already showing signs..... Great post by the way Jordan, after my nap, I'll have to fully read it and make sure they've got all their facts right. If not I will email them and be sure they understand what all is required to make a proper tin foil hat. Ken

Warren, It's been about 2 weeks now since I pounded any leather, and just now arrived home from a trip to Montreal Quebec. We got an all expenses paid trip to the Kenworth Assembly Plant in Laval Quebec. I'm telling you, what a great trip. About the most amazing thing I've seen in all my years. So I'm going to have a nice long nap, then I think I'll just beat the #&*%## out of some leather just for the fun of it. Met a nice fellow also from Calgary that went on the same trip, who turns out is also a leather worker. He makes "Blackjacks" and has also written 3 books (2 on Blackjacks 1 on Tactical Tomahawks) his best friend, works at Tandy here in Calgary, and he will be joining us here on Leatherworkers shortly. Hope you can find some time in the shop Warren, and I hope it rains tommorow so I don't have to sandblast....LOL Ken

Just finished my Hunting Bag
Beaverslayer replied to manfrommuc's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
manfrommuc, this is an exceptionally great looking bag. The color, texture o9f leather, carving and lacing all work so well together. Is it just the lace that holds it together? Ken -
darryl, that Gargoyle rocks, I just love it. As David said, there is a whole wealth of "Fantasy" art that you can get for inspiration on any search for images. Great work, thanks for posting. Ken

Just finished a Bible cover
Beaverslayer replied to leather1214's topic in Books, Journals and Photo Albums
Leather, I really like the color of this. The carving looks real nice as well. Just 1 question, the 3 sorta circles on the back, what caused these? Ken -

Spider, very nice story, and gesture on your part. The carving looks really good. I also had to take a second look, and then count the leaves. Very nice. Ken
