@ 3 here, always looking for the next one. Price is the 97-10

I put big, heavy duty one's under the table when I made one for the Randall Lockstitch. Things a monster, but its very stable if I turn each wheel outwards, it gives it a bit more stability as the wheel stick out sideways a bit, enlarging the foot print, all 4 swivel, and all 4 lock, and are a good quality rubber so they don't slide.

Spectacuar control! What did you shoot the video with? At first I thought you were using a high speed camera...until you sped up.

I'm still learning about what feet do what and what attachments do what and what kind of....well I'm confused. Would that french attachment work for the gusset issue? Or is that a different procedure all together?

I'm getting one of these for my Randell harness stitcher, do they make one for the Cobra 4? Would that work?

Beautiful work, and beautiful animal.

I'm not sure. 50's Maybe?? I can't believe how well it stitches, it is certainly only limited by the operator (in my hands). There's nothing like the sound it makes and the ease which it goes though leather. Amazing machine I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Just look at these stitches I laid down yesterday, again, this is all the machine, I'm still new at this, turn a corner, stitch length remains consistent, plus I get this great feeling I'm working with a peice of history when I run it.

I have some yellow or gold thread that is near as you describe, its not gold, but more yellow than straw, came with my Randall when I bought it, sorry I can't help more:

Randall Lockstitch. I can run the machine fine, still learning to make holsters though

If I may, here is a larger picture: Sure looks like my Landis No 1. Mines a great stitcher, good old work horse.
-
Landis No1 I think. Take friends, mine is a heavy beast!

What type of leather? Did you fold it over the watch pins? I've always wondered how watch straps are made. Looks great. -

How are they used? Anyone know of a tutorial? My wife bought a bunch, but we couldn't figure out how they are used in wallets... -
If You Could Only Have One "blue Gun"
mogwild replied to Phatdaddy's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
You can get a open carry licence in Canada, for prospecting, or if you can prove your in bear country, and your work requires it. I know several folks in BC that have carry licences, but its restricted to a single firearm (handgun), in a certain area. Most firing ranges will allow you to have your firearm in a holster, providing you take a course (yeah, seriously, welcome to Canada). That being said, not really a handgun, but Mare's leg holsters are in high demand right now. -Trev -
You say in your for sale ad they are made in China http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=41293

Most I see for sale are in supply shops, like Tandy and the local saddle shop, posted on a pinboard on the wall, with the "take a number" on the bottom. Quite a few are on modern tables, with modern clutch motors, but occasionally you run across one on the original stand, to me that's a bonus, to others, maybe not, especially if you have to transport it I know of 3 currently within a 4 hour driving radius, 2 on original stands, another on a modern stand, we already have one, but I keep an eye out, 2 is always better than one right? I collect the machines, my wife uses them, so to me, I'd rather buy one that was being used up to the day I buy it, so I know its history. You should let your buddy have it for a reasonable fee if he's going to get it up and running, and has some of your grandfather's old tools already, sounds like a great way to let the legacy live on.

I've seen them from $400-$3000 in my area. The ones for sale for $3000, are still for sale. Keep in mind genuine needles are rare, getting hard to find, so he'll have to run what he's got, or use Landis No 1 needles, or drop the bar and use the Adler needle (reduced capacity). IMHO, I think they are still great stitcher's, and if he doesn't want it, let me know I have a thing for the old Iron. Here's a bag my wife recently made, entirely on her Singer 97-10, they can still crank out great stuff.
