  6. Helps if you quote a part of the post or tag the user so they get a notification in case they don't have notifications setup correctly. @esheeran
  7. I did that for a 4" hole saw. When you get down to the base of the teeth and sharpen it, you are into soft material. The edge rolls over if you don't come down perfectly square, then have to take more material off and sharpen it again. I guess I should try heating and quenching it to harden the edge. Lots to heat to an even temperature before quenching.
  8. It works well. I will remove a number of post that distract from the intent of your post.

  13. Using LW's search for "drill press" AND stitching brought up lots of hits, most not fitting what we want. Down 20 or 30 items, found a good hit. Better to try a google search like this site: leatherworker.net "drill press" sewing stitching -machine -motor Site: tells google to search the listed site "drill press" quotes tell google to include both words, not individual -machine tells google to ignore machine The google search engines are much faster and easier to select the parameters you want and don't want. Add or remove additional parameters as you like.
  14. This option is so the motor can be mounted left or right or some other permutation depending on how it is belted, whether the motor is on the left side of the drive belt or right side. If you turn a sewing machine backwards, the hook can't pick up the top thread, and you will likely get into quite a mess. Reverse lever on a sewing machine reverses the action of the feed dog and walking feet, not the hook action.
  15. Have you done a search here to see what has been posted? You could search for drill press and related keywords.
  16. As mentioned in a couple posts above, pig skin is great for liners and pockets too. It is tough and durable. If you are making lots of card slots that overlap, any leather starts to get thick, so as above, fabric works well too, though not as durable as leathers. I have used coated polyester. It lasts between 5 and 10 years when carried in your back pocket every day.
  17. Do which? They can reply to posts just like you and I have done here. Or you and they can communicate using the "Message" App built into this site. Go to the top right corner of the window and you will see Click on the envelope icon and follow the screen prompts to create a new message, or to open a message from someone else. Hope this answers your question.
  18. @Kayle When you quote someone, you keep the quote in the box and type your comment in the box below it. What you have done makes no sense at all. Please clarify what you are really trying to do. If you are asking where you can rent, then start a new thread in "wanted". Did you realize that you are commenting on a thread that is 5 years old? Toxo is located in the UK. You appear to be located in Spotsylvania, Virginia, 22553. You should identify your location so you get help that is more specific to your location. This is a world wide forum.
  19. This is kind of cryptic. What are you actually asking or telling us? If you want some dialog, you have to do your part.
  20. I would recommend that all queries go through this site, whether as posts, or via the message option. Using email puts your email address out there for all the spam bots to pickup and start harassing you. If you prefer, we can completely remove your email address from your post. There are routines that can quickly rebuild your email address, even though I obfuscated your address.
  21. There are a number of suggestions if you care to search for them. Cornstarch, kitty litter, floor dry, etc. Bury the article in one of these. Keep stirring it around every few hours or days until it has absorbed how ever much it can. With all these suggestions, I haven't seen any confirmations from those that asked as to whether it works or not.
  22. Does this exclude a knife? These are all tools that we use. We don't stuff a hide into a machine and have a belt come out the other end. Some people have lots of tools that help speed up the process. Others have a minimal set of tools. Does it matter if I use a paint brush or an airbrush? They can produce practically identical products. If I call my work area a studio, does that move me into a different class than my basement or garage workshop? If I use a sewing machine versus manual needle and thread, it is hand sewn? If I guide the belt or what ever through the sewing machine, following the stitch line, or I saddle stitch, it is hand sewn? This example will get a lot of feedback. Which side of the bench do you sit on?
  23. I moved it to saddle construction. Not really an accessory item in my opinion even though there are lots of stirrup and stirrup leather designs. @Gaitinggrl77 Keeping you in the loop so you know where your post has gone. Some experienced saddle makers should be along soon.
