  1. I have been quite successful with removing black stains due to iron contamination. And yes, you need to replace some of the oils that are lost due to bleaching with Oxalic acid. A teaspoon in a pint of water is strong enough, and doesn't bother my skin much ... sort of like lemon juice which you can also use to bleach stains. Just don't keep you fingers in it all day! You can bleach it using Q-tips or other cotton/wool swabs, so you can avoid bleaching more than the stain area. Do it in progressive steps until you get a close match to the surrounding area. Also note that you may have to remove any protective finish for what ever agent you use to clean/bleach out the stain. In that case, you will want to remove the finish over the whole piece/panel/seat so you can have a consistent colour.
  2. Do a google search using this string "site:leatherworker.net watch strap" without the quotes. The "site:" parameter restricts the search to leatherworker.net.
  3. @Alan RUNDELL Moved your post to leather sewing machines where you may get more responses. If you post your photo in a jpeg/jpg format, more people will be able to open it to see what you are trying to show us. The format you used is pretty much restricted to Apple, and most of us don't have anything to open it with, and are not interested in hunting for something to open it with.
  4. You are over thinking this and making it too complicated. A good sewing machine servo motor, preferably analog rather than digital, and a speed reducer pulley set. Need the pulley set to be able to keep the motor speed up enough that you still have adequate torque. You should check out posts in the "leather sewing machine" forum. It's also a good idea to put your location in your profile so we can see where you are located. From your IP address, you appear to be in California. So we know that most homes / businesses are served with 120 VAC 60 Hz. power in your area, versus other frequencies and voltages elsewhere in the world.
  5. My Tandy Round Knife doesn't keep a sharp edge. Has to be stropped every few inches.
  6. @nickyhorses You really might like to tell people where you are. This is a global site with members from all over the world. It would appear from the IP address you used that you are likely the Temecula, California, 92592 area. You should add some info to your profile, including your location.
  7. Michiel sent me a copy to post here. adler 204 servicemanual.pdf Also applies to model 205
  8. Do a YouTube video and post the link. File sizes here are limited.
  9. Have you considered a new routing for the replacement line? Might be a lot easier in the long run.
  10. Don't lift the presser foot so high that it releases the top tension disks. It's not skipping stitches, so the needle is in a good location so the hook still grabs the loop. Having made these comments, it appears that you are losing the bottom tension rather than the top tension as the knot isn't being pulled down into the leather. Or, are you pulling the top thread up as you are completing the stitch? @Wizcrafts should be along to help soon.
  11. Moved your post to Leather Sewing Machines.
  12. Don't know why she hasn't updated her website, but she has gone out of business and is retiring. Sounded like it was prompted by some sort of disagreement with her supplier. Look for her on Facebook. Warmest regards, Linda Brown One of her posts sounded like she passed on her contacts to Longview Leather. See their post on Facebook. They now supply kangaroo lace.
  13. There is a thread https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 that has some helps for resizing photos. Even for the iPad. There are online sites too.
  14. bermudahwin hasn't been on this site since August 19, 2019. This is an old post (in the wrong forum). I will be locking this thread and archiving it in old/sold.
  15. OP hasn't been on the site since May 10. So I am archiving this. Locking and moving to Old/Sold.
  16. Thanks for adding the photos. You can use various apps or software to reduce the size of your photos. 800x600 or 1024x768 pixels is adequate size for most details to be seen. Smaller files are also great for people on the fringes of the internet that take a long time for larger files to download. Some helps are located in this thread. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171
  17. Just wanted you to be aware for future posts. Also add a post to clarify your shipping if you aren't happy with shipping world wide. Some locations get very expensive. Happy to have you here, as we can all learn from each other as we proceed down the road of life.
  18. @mrwatch A picture or two would help so we can see what you are trying to describe.
  19. @YourToolinBuddy Moved your post to the Marketplace where it should have been posted. Your offer of free shipping may come back to bite you. This is a global forum, so you may be asked to ship anywhere in the world! Please read the marketplace rules and comply https://leatherworker.net/forum/forum/70-announcements/
  20. Perhaps you could describe some of your work here instead of relying on your website. The website feels very impersonal. with discussion here, and a few photos with your explanations would be a better way for us to get to know you better.
