Flame Biker's Wallet

Hellcat, ever try using Sharpies for color.? I use the Bic permanent markers with the fine point. You can practice on some scrap to blend the color on the flames. I used them on a seat and the color held up a lot better than I thought it would. -
Welcome! Now let's see your trike.

Thanks man! -
That's where this one is heading. The dude I'm making this for was in Houston before Ike hit, he bailed out of there back to his town which only got some rain.

Looks good, nice job. One question though, why do you wait to put the Aussie on? I put it on and it tans up quite nicely and after awhile it looks like other items i made.

Great coloring job!!! Now make the rest of it black. Ha ha ha.

Ray, lots of good suggestions here. I'll add mine and you can take it for what its worth. After tooling and dyeing (or in my case, sharpieing) I oil the piece up a bit with some quality oil like 60w Valvoline. Today I used HD 60W because I was out of Valvoline. I like the Fiebing's antique also. I used a sandwich bag today, out of gloves.I just dip a couple of fingers in the antique and lightly smear it over the work and into all the impressions.Next I wipe off the excess immediately,I don't give it time to dry. Then I take a rag wrapped around a finger and get some more out of the impressions as I like to use the antique to outline.I then go over the whole thing again with a damp cloth to get any stray stain, let it dry for a day or two, then finish it off with some Aussie Conditioner.

Nice work! That really pops! -
Thanks. I poured some water on it and it seems to absorb water pretty well.

Finished this seat the other day. Found a dfferent type of yoga mat at Walmart for padding, seems to work real well.

Nice for your second ever project and I like the finish, makes it look aged. Got a pic of the inside? And lastly, it reminds me of our dogs when they're let outside early in the morning. The chihuahua starts howling and the great dane joins in. -
Cooo well !

What a great thread! Johanna would have to post a pic of Lucy Lawless! Rogue, I know my wife would be more than happy to form that leather for you.

Here's the seat I used the marker on. It's been on my bike about 3 months or so. The wife and I really have to invest in a better camera.
