  1. I would do it with 1-2 oz veg tan leather pig skin would be great because of the texture. case the leather , then start forming the face, let dry, then fill in the voids on the back side.......
  2. I wouuld go with the line 24, they are easy to set and will be much stronger, compared to the line 20.......I M H O.........
  3. Welcome to the fourm.....the upper for my mocks are made from 8-9oz Elk and the soles are 10 oz veg tan. No you will not be able to make them WaterProf, Mabey water repelent.
  4. This is what John Bianchi demonstrates in his holster making video, a liberal coat of Warm Neetsfoot Oil and a Lot of summer sunshine. also u can use virgn olive oil this will produce a little darker color. "experiment".

  10. yes it can be made....But to help you a great bit, the next time you are in a"Tandy Store" check out several books....Hand Sewing and also the 3 books "Making Cases".by Al Stolhman.

  12. If it were me i would use contac cement..... and be Very Careful that you don't get the cement on the fur..

  14. Terry when you get the Corona...........be sure and get the wedge of Lime to put in it..
  15. I have been getting Fiebings Ant at HideCrafters and Zack White...... I have used this method........... I have used Acrilic Craft paint and diluted it down with water, apply like you would reg Ant, and wipe Quickley "so EXPERIMENT FIRST"

  17. LISTEN UP.......... Listen to Tony. USE A LEAD BLOCK.......or Listen to me and use the END GRAIN OF A hardwood block....both works well and your punches will last a long time.
  18. What is the difference in Tan Coat vs Bag Coat ? also would single cap rivets be stronger than double cap ones.

  23. Boom.....Take a trip to the local Music Store that sells them. You'll get a good idea of what size they need to be .....then come back to your shop and get busy making one. ths straps are not hard to make. also here on the L W do a search for Guitar Straps you'll see plenty of photos. Hope this helps you to get started.
