PS...those were not scraps they were small pieces of leather....I learned that from a Wood Worker....he told me he bought the lumber by the square ft.....for what it is worth.

If you can do a double loop lace then you can do this one. Just punch 2 rows of holes or lacing splits and start your lacing.

You can get the Leather Hat pattern from Tandy....with a little R & D you should be able to make a pattern for the Crown. remember ..Just a larger diameter at the top, smaller where the crown fits the brim and not quite so tall of a crown....you'll make.
