The leather is 5 oz.
The mold itself is made from cedar wood and a router bit was used to make the channel in which the leather is pressed into.
I can use one piece of leather and cut two separate cases from each one.
The leather is soaked in water, worked into the mold then a plastic plug is placed on top of the leather.
A plywood top sits on top of the mold block and is pressed down using a shop press.
It takes about five minutes to set it up and press it.
