I've had the same problem with acetate that is advertised as happy little windows for I.D. wallets. It doesn't work when stitched into place, I haven't tried it loose in the pocket.

If you can't locate any, another option would be to carve or purchase a leather stamp to make the impression on leather and then cement it over a plain concho.

If the machine is threaded properly, you have the correct needle and thread combination then tension could be an issue. Do you know what the top and bobbin tensions are, have you measured them, can you pull them easily by hand? Is there a take up spring on that machine? -
It works like super shene, you can't put too much on at once, wiping it on with a rag works good. It dries very quickly leaving a high gloss. Not quite sure about the hardness yet, too early to know.

I use a stitching pony in the jaws of a workmate. I can easily store both.

I wouldn't expect it to react with anything considering how it's advertised but it certainly warrants testing.

Another option for you might be a decorative piece of leather with the swarovski crystals riveted to that and then stitched to the premade tack.

The hole in the tubular rivet is too small, the post won't go into it. Are these simply for decoration,are you using two or more layers of leather, can you rivet through the first layer and then stitch them together?

There's not much to it, cut the head off a chicago screw and cement your swarvoski into the hole where you cut the head off. If you want to send me the thickness of leather you're working with along with a swarvoski rivet and a chicago screw I'll make one and send it back to you but I don't think you'll have any trouble with it.

I don't use the swarvoski's but if the diameter of your rivet posts are 5/32"or smaller they will slip into the hole on the chicago screw. You won't use the cap, instead you will use the mating (male) threaded part of the chicago screw.

Diane; I don't think you'll find them but you can make them longer by cutting the cap off a chicago screw, use JB weld and cement the post inside the threaded tube which will give you a fair bit of adjustment. Kevin.

It's much easier with a fleshing knife and fleshing beam, you might get some help from a local trapper.

How to make Grey Dye

TARRAGO Dye is garbage, I tried the grey last year and then opted for grey embossed leather from Springfield which is also garbage, I'm constantly touching it up. If I wanted grey for another project I would try a penetrating wood stain. -
A plastic funnel should work, cut the stem off and mold over the inverted funnel. 1.5-2 oz. leather.

A clear epoxy resin mixed with your leather and poured into a plastic pipe lined with a release agent should accomplish that.

An air tight container with silica gel desiccant should do the trick, and you can always add a dehumidifier to the room. Buy a Hygrometer and monitor the humidity. Now that they are already rusty you should clean them really well and spray them lightly with something like Rust-Oleum. .
