Randall Union Lockstitch Sewing Machine for Sale
DavidMillsSaddlery replied to MikeKirkpatrick's topic in Old/Sold
Campbell makes a speed reducer kit for this machine! You remove the clutch at the flywheel, install a piece they make, install the speed reducing pillows and a servo motor and you’re going slower! No haven’t had any trouble when I slowed mine down! -
Randall Union Lockstitch Sewing Machine for Sale

I put a speed reducer and a servo motor on mine and that made it more user friendly! You are right though, it’s not a machine for the timid! -
You can email yourself the pictures from your phone, and it should ask if you want to resize them! Then save the smaller files!

According to his profile... somewhere in NC

^^^What he said... Northern Tool has a motor for $179.00ish? even 110 volt motor should work! What I found was the pully size is really important! Too big, and the flywheel rotates too fast, and you get a double click! i know this because o replaced the whole motor, and had a new pulley size on it!

Yes thank you sir… I have been watching that thread! I’ve got most of it figured out already, but would still like the rest of the manual if availableYes thank you sir… I have been watching that thread! Well if you use the flat flywheel, the smaller the motor pulley the better... I put a 3.5” pulley in the 1725 RPM motor and it was spinning so fast, that I was getting a double click... move got it working for now! It would be nice to have the manual, in case I screw something else up! Lol

then work great when I first brought it home… Then that little three-quarter horsepower motor went bad on me, so I replaced it with a 1 hp motor with the same RPMs in the same pulley! Now it’s not showing enough pressure down to cut the leather? Other than that plus me oiling everything really well I haven’t changed anything? I’ve spun the adjusting wheel multiple times trying to get it to work? What am I missig?

Have you had a chance to get the rest of the manual downloaded? i got mine running the first day, then the motor went bad... Replaced motor, lubed well, but now it’s not putting enough downward force to cut? I did learn that if the pulley on the motor is too large, the speed increases, and gives you a double click!

Is it possible for someone with this type clicker make a video of the rear flywheel rotation? So I can judge if the motor I’ve got installed is turning the flywheel fast enough!
