  1. Try these images TK. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=forget+me+not+flowers&qpvt=forget+me+not+flowers&FORM=IQFRML Cheryl
  2. TK nice job on the cover!!! Cheryl
  3. I have a finalized horse now, so going to start the portfolio tomorrow. Still looking for feedback.
  4. Hi Mr. Lentz. I can help you as far as the sewing. They took two pieces of leather, the tallest piece for bills and another piece cut to length and width. Then they used seam tape or glue to fold the edges over before sewing. And the tallest wallet piece was glued in place behind the one fold or seam tape used as well. Then they machine sewed both edges keeping the folds and the second bill piece in place. Logo, I'm not sure about.
  5. Yeah I switched it to a cougar because a bob cat wouldn't be big enough....maybe I should take some creative license and switch it back. At least then maybe it would be perceived as a predator running the horse through the leather? Thanks Q for the feedback. Cheryl
  6. I decided to try and draw a cougar for the other side, think I'm going to make this a tablet holder. Would love some feedback on it.
  7. Thank you for the patterns. Cheryl
  8. I can't even imagine what this must feel like. Please let us know how we can help. Cheryl
  9. If anyone is is interested in doing this challenge please post some ideas, WIPs, anything you can think of. Again these are just for fun, not competitive and we help each other. This is practice on perspective, a different type I know but still just a perspective practice. 150 people have looked, how about jumping in and having some fun? Cheryl
  10. Nice machine
  11. this is my WIP for the challenge. I'm not sure about the tears yet. Would like some feedback. I'd like to make it a wallet and have a bobcat going into the other side but I'm not sure I can pull that off. I may leave it like this. Cheryl
  12. My edges are dyed the same color as the project. I use a sponge in a circular motion and make sure I get the edges by holding it sideways and running the sponge down it and rubbing the excess into the color of the project. I burnish later to make it darker and slick. Cheryl For vinegaroon I dip it or run it through a plastic dish pan to dye it. It always seem to come out the best. I think dwight is probably on to something!!!!
  13. I think it's really pretty Rudi. Cheryl
  14. You could do it either way, carve or stamp it. I like my alphabet stamps for words rather than free carving them, but I think it's more what you're comfortable with. However, I always put and antique over my stamped letters to make them pop a little better. Cheryl
  15. There's a challenge posted for April and I hope you'll come join the fun. It's posted under contests, etc. Cheryl

I added the template I drew under the challenge. Would love suggestions before I put it to leather, and some ideas you folks might have fore this type of challenge

  16. I was arguing back and forth with a friend about starting these again so we could all practice thing we might not be so comfortable with. This challenge is what I call a break through challenge. I recently did a horse that I attempted to make it look like it was breaking through the leather. But you can do anything you want, although I'm going to do another horse. It can be someone breaking up through the surface of a body of water, an arrow shot through an apple, the possibilities are endless. I hope this will help us practice perspective and give a sense of motion to our projects. For people who've never done any of the challenges here, we don't have a winner. Everyone wins that plays. We usually post our WIP for help from the other members and this is a cooperative endeavor so that hopefully when the month is over you have a piece you're proud of. You can do the image on a project if you want or just a fair sized scrap, entirely up to you. I hope you'll all try to find the time to participate because this is open to any level, from a person picking up a swivel knife for the first time, to our generous long time folks here always willing to help. Any questions feel free to ask here for everyone's benefit. And next month I'll be handing the baton off to someone who's going to get us working on a steampunk project. Cheryl
  17. I'm sorry Kate I just saw this, and I'm still laughing. Although I hope you weren't scalded. I amaze myself some times at the unplanned idiotic things I still do, but usually they're worth a laugh. Cheryl

    Yay!

I love the elephants turned dragon, cool image. Cheryl
  19. I've done two collars for big dogs, and both are holding up well. I like you name inset. Is that stamped and painted or concho type letters? Very nice job either way. Cheryl
  20. Very nice, haven't heard snow leopards mentioned in forever. Unique and very well done. Cheryl
  21. Hi Scotty....never thought I'd see this thread resurrected but it made me smile going back through it. It's ok you are among friend's here. I have since acquired 2 more 15-91s since I made my last entry to this. I love my singers and FINALLY I sewed some corduroy on mine two days ago as a repair for a friend and that seemed to sooth my anxiety There are lots of tips in here about remaining in a harmonious relationship while still being addicted LOL. Cheryl
  22. I found out goat doesn't roll unless you want a billfold that's over 1/4" thick I found out no matter how fast I talked I could not trick my 15-91 into thinking I was sewing UNDER a 1/4" I found out if your not careful when you roll the leather you can end up turning the beautiful CC holders you made yourself into 1" across and they'll barely hold a pencil I found out I can make something so poorly even I'm embarrassed to post it and that takes a lot. So no pictures today folks, just a arduous learning experience since I worked on this all day. BTW I would love to hear other stories of something you messed up so bad there was no making it look intended. Cheryl
  23. I love it and the color.....Cheryl
