  3. Thanks for your help Constabulary and Cowboy Bob. It gives me some places to start!
  4. You are correct no walking foot. I will make sure to give you a call when I'm ready to by a foot. I'm having a hard time finding a lot of info on it other than it was designated as a leather sewing machine.
  5. I just bought a working Singer 43-4. The guy i bought it from used it for working on tack. What is the max thread size to use and can I find a presser foot that will not mark up veg tan? Any other thoughts on this machine? I bought this machine to learn on ultimately I will buy either a Cobra or a Cowboy just wanted to start somewhere.
  6. I havn't ever used clear laq to seal so take what i say with a grain of salt. Any wallet i have made of that weight will be stiff and takes a while to break in. I would say any leather conditioner would help though.
  7. Very impressive! How long have you been tooling?
  8. Yes it works well. I usually sand and then bevel the edge. The only time it mushrooms is when i try to do it when the leather is wet.
  9. Glad your trip went well. Haven't been to the cowboy hall of fame in ten years. About time to go back!
  10. No problem. Honestly every time i look at it I wish i could execute a bag as good as you because it wil make an awesome looking bag!
  11. Monica,I only have my phone camera and it takes horrible pictures. I can try it later today. Scratches rub out and blend in when i went to the store last week every piece i looked at was nice. Honestly it looks a lot better than the picture. The belts I made 5 months ago look great still.
  12. Monica, I bought some of the crazy horse water buffalo and cut some belts from it. It wears great and definitely has character. I really like it.
  13. That is one nice looking rig! I like the style, wish I could find a pattern like that.
  14. Yep we buy from them because we're non discerning crafstmen and beginners. Look we all do this craft because we love it we don't always need a perfect canvas and sometimes we do. We get what we pay for and I'm pretty sure we're watching our profit margins too?
