  1. Yeah thats a long wait when ya want it now, have you tried Bruce Johnson?
  2. Weaver carrys both, if you have a tax # you can setup an account if you don't already have one. Minimum first order is something like $250
  3. Anyone build this yet? I had the revised pattern printed and hopefully will be able to construct it this week, hoping to see a finished product.

Id be interested in the Gomph adjustable creaser and maybe the french edger if you decide to break up the lot. Nice looking collection, looks like alot of work covering those handles

    Made A Tool

What size thrust bearing is needed? One of my flex shaft handpieces uses a pretty small thrust bearing, I can take a look Monday and get dimensions if you're interested at all. Jeremy
  7. Check how much thread is on the bobbin too, pulling out stitches because the bobbin ran out 3 stitches short sucks, just saying
  8. Pic was from my Gomph catalog, welcome. I use a #4 on my holster stuff. I think every maker varies for size and number. I'll add a picture of the double lined Gomph for ya. Strap was edged with #2 Gomph round bottom and creased with #4 Gomph. I had to "sharpen" the creaser a bit so it may vary from others, plus they are close to 100 years old so YMMV Jeremy
  9. The Pfaff have reverse? I know the Singer 153 doesn't have reverse.
  10. The Singer has no reverse. The cylinder arm is very nice for sewing gussets in bags, and I see in the ad that there is a flat table attachment which comes in real handy. I have a 153w101 and like it, although the stitch length adjuster has fouled threads, it still works but not how the factory intended, so check that if you go look at it. Also that massive handwheel is probably a shop built deal. What will you be making? Can you sew everything flat? Do you need reverse?
  11. Pretty cool, nice job. I have 2 Rose knives that need some attention, worked on one, just the edge and boy is it hard steel! The polish you have on yours is very impressive, well done!
  12. Exactly! Thank you very much! Now to figure out how to make one.....
  13. Sorry for my confusion, and thank you for the pictures
  14. What I see in that video is totally different than the traditional plough gauge link to on Sheridan Leather.
  15. Any chance you'd be willing to share detailed pictures with the class?
  16. Should be a threaded rod on the motor that will allow tightening the motor to speed reducer belt
  17. Using small needles may require repositioning the hook closer to the small diameter needle. That could be the cause of the thread shredding, small needle is further from hook, hook penetrates thread because loop is further away. Also too large of needle for the thread size and the loop sometimes won't form properly and again the hook penetrates the thread. Get on the phone with Ronnie and I'm sure you'll be able to sort it out, I bet you're going to have to move the hook closer to the small needle so it can pickup the thread properly. *I have read that slightly twisting the needle can sometimes help with the thread shredding* Back tacking rarely looks perfect, if I need a back tack to look awesome it gets done by hand.
  18. Just curious if you've tried calling Osborne?

How you like stainless for burnishing?
  20. I think thats exactly why someone would lock it. I think I remember gottaknow (sp?) posting that he will sometimes lock the length on the machines in the factory to prevent accidental adjustments. You may find a certain length you like that fits what you do and just leave it.
