  1. Hate to say it friend but things like that have what's called a perceived value not fun to hear but it's true. It would be best if you created something that that's new or unique unfortunately your wallet is neither let's say your shop price is $25.00 dollars an hour x 10 hours labor = $250.00 your wallet has a perceived value of $50.00 that makes your wallet very hard to sell. In my younger days, I was a custom furniture and cabinet maker a decorator came it my shop he wanted a price for a bathroom vanity he showed me his drawing which had a lot of unique things about it I told him I would get back to him. Now, this vanity was only three feet long with a banjo top over the toilet. The next day I gave him a price of $3,500.00 dollars He said wow that seems like a lot of money I said it Is because that's a lot of vanity he said he could get a vanity at home depot for $300.00 I said ok that's good for them $3,500.00 is my price. He bought the vanity from me for $3,500.00 plus installation. The design of his vanity made it so unique it was worth $3,500.00 and he knew it. My advice to you is always getting what you need to get don't work for anything less. One thing I would tell people who wanted things cheaper is if I don't get all the money how can I do a good job for you?
  2. looks good Frodo
  3. No debate at all I'm just too dam lazy to do all that hand stitching I actually think it's better and I like to think of myself as the guy who would like to do hand stitching and I have all the equipment to do it but then when it comes time to do it I'm on the machine the most hand stitching I do is to close up the end of the machine stitch LOL.
  4. This is machine-stitched I think it looks ok
  5. That sounds like a deal to me good job Frodo.
  6. that's going to look really nice with the resist and antique what's on it now. as far as how much it's worth I think that starts with what you think it's worth and start to develop a price point from there factoring in all sorts of things like materials, overhead, time and time on a one-off thing needs to include design, ordering materials, and so forth sometimes it's about who is doing the buying and why anyway I would say not less than $50.00 Bucks But then what the hell do I know.
  7. Thanks for showing Frodo like to see the other one when it done
  8. I charged a guy fifty bucks for a key holder for his belt it only holds one truck key but he's happy with it he has had it for about four years now and wears it every day it's a very small case with no tooling no color $50.00 bucks with all that tooling on yours, wow not sure what it would be worth.
  9. how long did it take to make that and could we see a finished one you know completely done.

  16. Beautiful workmanship the woodgrain on the cross, the colors, the stitching, detail, texture, and design are all top-shelf work and all for the greatest purpose.
  17. Nice job Chuck like always, I'm sure they will love them. The sewing looks great, and how you did those words pulls it together.
  18. Thanks, Matt I did a belt one time It was a ton of work lots of stitching, and a lot of time washed it after the roon with baking soda way too much soda the belt looked like it was 500 years old it was unusable LOL now. not sure what ph levels I had but thank you for the information if I ever use roon again I'll be sure to check the ph levels for sure I did another job with roon and it didn't crack thank God but I will say I used a lot of water washing it after the roon that was about 4 years ago and it's still fine shit luck on that one if that one had cracked I'm not sure what I would have done. I'll show a pic of that one you will see why I would have left town or something or maybe jumped off a bridge lol. Doc I let mine sit for about two weeks for the best result don't forget to neutralize the acid as soon as your done with the roon.
  19. Nice job Hags I made a rig for a Ruger 44 mag and for a grizzly bear hunt the guy took a great pic of him and his sons with the bear but without the holster on o well as far as the holster goes, I put quick disconnects on the front. the way the guy wears it is not the way I intended it to be worn but he says he loves it but as far as adjustments go after this holster I have no idea LOL it was not intended to wear in his arm pit LOL
  20. Doc I let mine sit for about two weeks for the best result don't forget to neutralize the acid as soon as your done with the roon.
  21. That sure is a nice-looking holster and a fine piece of work you did' , I hope the guy gets you pictures of the bear with him wearing the rig.
  22. For the fine stuff, I use a pattern maker's head knife from gomph for just about everything else I use a 5" head knife. I didn't like head knives at first but once I got used to them it was hard to use anything else the pattern head knives are the best for tight close twists and turns.
