usually the flywheel turns towards the operator

The 433 is like the 234 but with 2nd oil tank on the bottom afaik but I´m not 100% sure. It may have some other technical differences. What you mean with propper rotation? The max. rpm. it can sew with?

Even the 771 / 770 or the like industrial machines with drop feed are not ideal for producing leather goods. Wiz gave some very good hints in the pinned thread I have linked and Arthur Porters Video is worth watching when you are new to sewing machines. I had to learn it the hard way - at the beginning I thought any Industrial sewing machine is strong enough for my work and I can sew as thick as I can get unter the presse foot (hell - they are industrial machines) but no I totally failed. I once owned a Pfaff 138 (also drop feed like the 771) - great machine for fabric but it struggled with leather (especially suede) and thicker thread like 138. I have tried a lot of different machines (really). And since I have my walking foot Singer 111G156 I never had to look for another flat bed sewing machine for medium leather work or heavier canvas work (up to 9mm thickness). And I´m totaly pleased! The combined feeding system of bottom feed, needle feed and top feed really makes the difference!!! Again - You really should look for a walking foot machine - Check the Video and the linked thread !!!

Still not what you should buy. There are almost no parts available for these machines. Maybe some standard parts but thats it. Its also an odd system with the pulley underneath the table. Thin needles punch through soft leather w/o problem and most other machines can do that. But they once where designed for sewing fabric or some thin garment leather or maybe sewing sunbrella with thread not thicker than 69 or max. 92. They are high speed machines with an automatic lubrication system (if I remember correctly) and when you sew at slow speed the oil pumps do not work properly. I would not buy the Singer 770 machine for serious leather work. I once setup a 770 for someone who bought it for 1€ on Ebay. I hope I don´t see it again. Or it was a subclass of a 660 but it had the pulley under the table... You should look for a walking foot machine - check the Video and the linked thread.

I recall that there is another 771 from Singer - is it the old grey 771 industrial machine which has the belt pulley underneath the table top?
-
The 771 is a domestic "Plastic Bomber". Domestic sewing machines most of the time are limited to 69 or 92 thread and you sometimes don´t even find thicker needles for thicker thread because of the limitations. These machines are not designed for heavy work. You of course can sew leather with them but on the long view this most likely is not what you want. Please look at this pinned thread first. LW member WIZ explained a lot about sewing machines for leather. It´s a lot to read but also a lot you should know before buying a machine: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=25239 Furthermore check this Video of Arthur Porter, he also is a LW member Take your time - You need these information!

oooooh this is the type I´d like to own - nice, small and vintage

Maybe Ebay Germany. Is it your thread spool? Usually they have the thread name, a colour number and thread thicknes mentioned on a small sticker on the inside of the spool. I´d assume the therad name is TERA (Polyester thread)

Since some Singer 111 type flat bed machiens can handle 207 thread I could imagine that the Seiko CW-8 / Consew 227 type machiens can hadle 207 thread as well when the hole in the feed dog is wide enough and the hook is set up proberly. But I can´t speak from experience since I (yet) don´t have a 227 type machine. Biothane is not feeding - why not? The 441 has a needle feed so I think it should work. Or am I on the wrong track?

Seiko Dl-328 - 2 Needle Compound Feed?
Constabulary replied to Constabulary's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Took me hours to find out what it "could be". Seems the machine is like the Consew 3302 or 3300 series. It´s a chain stitch machine. Does someone have experiences with these machines? I have never touched a chain stitch machine. Is it producing the sort of chain stitch you find on Jeans? like this here (the stitches not the machine)? Maybe someone can shed some light on this -

I think you just have to rise the needle bar a little bit to accomodate the 134-35. The 135x17 is the longest, they are 45mm long in total. @ Gregg I don´t want a "nedle fight" but I just have checked a Pfaff 145 manual - see picture.
-
The Pfaff 145 H 1 and H 2 need system 134 and Model H 3 sytem 134-35 afaik. But you never know what the former user did with the machine. I once have seen a Pfaff 145 set up for 135x17 (DPx17). You can sew a bit thicker than normal with this needle. It just depends on how the needle bar and the feet are set up.

Seiko Dl-328 - 2 Needle Compound Feed?
Constabulary replied to Constabulary's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Thats the one I assumed it will be but no - he said it is a different machine. But thanks for checking Strange - some machines simply do not appear in online searches... -
One of my pals has his hands on a Seiko DL-328. He would like to pick it up but has to travel 400km. Machine is sold as broke but most likely the seller just don´t know how to operate it. The only thing he knows is that it is a double needle compound feed machine. Sounds like an interesting machine but traveling 400Km one way just to find out the machine is not what he wants does not make sense (though he is crazy enough). I can´t find anything online so I´m hopping someone here can support him with a manual or at least a parts list or any further information. Thanks a lot in advance

Juki Tsc 441 Manual And Part List Download
Constabulary replied to Trox's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I think these are the manuals Trox once has liked to, I hope he don´t mind uploading them to the Forum Juki 441 Engineers Manual.pdf Juki 441 parts List.pdf -
the one in the middle in post #4 actually is an edge binder. Adler used the same accessories for their Class 4 +5. I have attached some pics from the manual - but please don´t ask for a translation. Your item looks more like a flip away edge guide but I´m not sure.

Very Old Singer "patcher". Help...
Constabulary replied to Skaukraft's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
I don´t see a machine at all -
The Norisbank is just an advertisement link for a credit "Jetzt oder nie" is part of the advertisement - this has nothing to do with the seller. He accepts bank transfer. But since Norway is not in the EU I can´t tell you how it is working. Usually inside the EU you send the payment by Banktransfer with IBAN + BIC and that takes just 1 or 2 days. The prices are very okay considering that the parts are no longer made and you are buying original Singer accessories. Usually a single presser feet from China is about 40€ and thats just the plain left toe foot. I wouldn´t ask him anything because I know the parts he is seelling. You of course have to decide if you can use the parts or not. You should ask him if he accepts bids from outside Germany and if he will ship internationally. Just try it in English.
-
uuuuh - impressive price and it is even motorized. But be aware that you are importing this machine directly from China. This is more or less a clone of the 29K71 it only seems to have a stitch adjuster of an earlier model everything else looks like a 29K71.
-
If one of you is looking for some 45K accessories check this Ebay seller in Germany: http://www.ebay.de/itm/sattlernahmaschine-Originalzubehorteile-fur-die-Singer-45K-Zubehorteile-/261916453852?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item3cfb6febdc But before you place an intl. bid contact him first. I have no use for the parts so I thought they could be usefull for someone else.

Just for the case you are interested this is my 29K71 restoration: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=56079&hl=29k71
